Story
When the sisters go to the Canaan Valley to search for paintings mentioned in a document found in an old hotel once owned by their grandparents - paintings that might be Monets - Andrea immediately becomes involved in tracking down a murderer. Kathleen would much rather be looking for the paintings, but she goes along with Andrea, since the victim was their hotel-keeper, murdered just down the hall from their room. The question is: Does the murder have something to do with the elusive paintings?

Meet Camron Reese, a mostly normal guy, all things considered. Camron has knack for writing, although he never aspired to be an author. His style is raw, unfiltered, and open to the point that it makes listeners squirm in their seats, for various reasons. This leads him on a journey where he publishes a best seller, and shortly after, his book is turned into a movie that becomes a household name. While he is happy about the success, this is still not ideal for young Cam, who doesn't like the spotlight very much, and realizes that getting out of the city would be the best plan for him.

Publisher's Summary
Wealthy families seem to attract scandals, and the Bassetts are no different. They bury theirs with the utmost discretion, but when one of their own is murdered, secrets are unearthed. Canaan Valley Sheriff Ward Sterling enlists the help of sisters Andrea Flynn and Kathleen Williamson to navigate the family's complex inner workings, because they're friends with Hadley, one of the Bassett siblings. They're glad to oblige, as the prime suspect is their friend, Deputy Willard Hill.
Several people stand to profit from the untimely death, and a few more had reasons to dislike the deceased. In spite of a serious threat from the murderer, Andrea and Kathleen persist in their quest to exonerate Willard. If they don't act fast, they'll be the killer's next victims.

Great story, terrible narrator
I have listened almost exclusively to audio books for years and I've never heard a narrator this bad. Not only were her inflections unnatural (she almost sounded like AI at times because of over articulating even the word "to" where a normal person would not), but her attempt at the accent of one of her European characters sounded like someone from Deep South America. Bizarre. She read all her men with what sounded like pursed lips, which resulted in sounding like a puppet show or children's story. Terrible. In general, she was so bad that it was almost stressful listening to the book at times. I can't believe she ever got selected as the voiceover for this. Her voice itself has a pleasant timbre, but the skill isn't there.

Still Loving them!
I was concerned to find there was a different narrator. Her version of Andrea was a little less sophisticated and more natural. But after the first few minutes, I fell right into the story just like the first two books. After a while, I realized that it didn't distract at all and became use to the new narrator's interpretation. She did and excellent job with them all.
The story is just as entertaining as before with a conti ued surprise twist at the end! Often writers follow what seems like a typical base and flesh it in. I know they don't intend to, but it happens. So, by the halfway mark, you have a fairly good idea of who the culprit it.... but with this author, that doesn't happen. You are always surprised by the end. I love stories like that!!! Get it! Read it! You will enjoy it, too!

Another great installment.
I love following the sisters through their adventures. The story picks up where part 2 left off, with a wedding to come. There are the always present characters that you loved from the 1st book, who take on different roles which was exciting to follow. My only complaint is the narration of this installment. The same care wasn't taken to enhancing the characters this book and made it a little less appealing. The 1st 2 books you could always determine which was Andrea, whereas in this one there was no difference. Otherwise, I loved this one too.

Another wedding has issues in Canaan Valley
This is the third in the series. I thought the narrator did a good job to enhance the story. She used many different inflections to portray the various characters.
The location is West Virginia's enchanting Canaan Valley. The amateur sleuths are: Andrea Flynn, a retired math teacher, and her sister Kathleen Williamson.
One of Maggie Flynn’s, Andrea and Kathleen’s niece, hired help is engaged to Deputy Willard Hill. It appears someone is framing Willard for the murder of his future mother-in-law.
There are plenty of family secrets that not everyone in the family is privy to know.
I enjoyed the twists and turns and was surprised who the killer turned out to be.
The new narrator’s voice enhanced the characters and didn’t make them sound so creepy.
Looking forward to the next book on audio.

Hunter's Moon is Book 3 in the Moon Mystery by Helen Faye Fanick. I loved Hunter's Moon. Although the book is a stand a lone story, I listened to the books in order and I was able to listen to the development of the main characters. I love my book friends and Kathleen, Andrea, Willard and our favorite Sheriff are marvelous characters. In Hunter's Moon, Willard is marrying his sweetheart, but, up he is being framed for murder. I thought Roxanne Weber gave a great performance as narrator. I am looking forward to the next audio book in the series.

Another Good mystery
Hunter’s Moon is #3 of the Moonlight Mystery Series by Helen Haught Fanick. Andrea and Kathleen, retired sisters, are back at the West Virginia hotel her niece and nephew-in-law own for the wedding shower and the following week’s wedding of their friends. There is another murder, assaults, thefts, and family secrets galore! The sisters work with the Sheriff to solve the crimes. There really isn’t much to do with the moon in the book, except for a passing mention now and then. The narrator is new to the series and the voices were less distinct among characters, and no one had their appropriate accent. Overall, the book was enjoyable.
