Publisher's summary
This can't be happening to her. A random breakdown, an isolated mountain road, a seemingly chance meeting with a hotter-than-hot stranger. Tatyana is a modern gal who can handle any crisis, but before she knows what's hit her, she's sensing a hideous threat, not to her but to this man who draws her like a moth to a flame. Hunter. "I know things…I saw it." When the attack comes, she is his protection from a diabolical enemy, even as he initiates her into a startling world of magic, sorcery, and sensuality. For in a moment of terrifying danger a spark has been struck, and neither can escape the erotic fire to come.

Story
Obituary writer Nadine Barbault doesn’t mind being called “Lady Death”. It suits the ice queen persona she’s cultivated to survive the fast-paced Toronto Herald. So when Nadine learns that famous (and reclusive) author Dot Voline has died, she doesn’t hesitate to run the obituary…only to discover that Dot is very much alive. Nadine’s screw-up has brought Wesley Chen of the rival Spear no end of joy—she’s been a thorn in his extremely ambitious side for years. But the renewed interest in Dot also surfaced chatter about a mysterious past scandal.

Ryder, Garrett, Kenzo, and Diesel - The Vipers. Their deals are as sordid as their business, and their reputation is enough to bring a grown man to his knees, forcing him to beg for mercy. They are not people you mess with, yet my dad did. The old man ran up a debt with them and then sold me to cover his losses. Yes, sold me. They own me now. I’m theirs in every sense of the word. Excellent Listen
I really enjoyed this paranormal romance. The author did an excellent job with the story and the characters. The story was well formed, exciting, suspenseful and romantic. Hunter is hot. Tatyana is the perfect person/witch for this story. Love that she is one of 13 kids in her family. Plus, she doesn't know of her witch abilities. It is fun watching her learn what they are. The narrator did an excellent job with each of the characters.

Awesome book and awesome narration..
Any additional comments?
Love, love, loved this book. Everything about it: the battles, the magic, the characters, the love among the witches and the sex, lots of sex that was so well written. I loved Ryce and Annie and Dimitri. Absolutely hated Braen and Odessa. This is my first JF book but not my last. Great writer.
The narration was just great. Whether she was talking with Ryce's British accent or Annie's southern drawl Ms. Wilde did a really wonderful job. I will be looking to see what else she narrates.

An enjoyable entertaining listen but....
Jacqueline Frank is an auto download for me but she has written this a JAX her pseudonym because she wanted to include erotica in her books and thought this would give them a distinction. However, I didn't find this book to be erotica on any level, yes is was sexy in parts but not more so than a lot of other books and certainly not along the lines of Lora Leigh (who I also love).
Tatyana wanted to join her brother and his friends because the two were close but she is unaware that he is actually a White Witch and he has joined other Witches in Willow Coven. When she gets there she meets a handsome sexy Master Witch called Hunter and sparks and sexual chemistry fly. But there is an evil Warlock and his dark Coven who's been raping, torturing and murdering Willow Coven members in the hopes of destroying them. It turns out she too is a latent Witch and slowly discovers her powers.
Thrills, chills, danger, surprises, magic, magical fight scenes, Witches, a Warlock, good world-building and some likeable secondary characters who provide strong bonds within the Coven. All the action and tension within the plot was good however, it did sound like there should have been a book before this one but I looked on JF's website and there's nothing listed but this book refers to a lot of events and a new recently formed couple that have already taken place which threw me a bit.
Worth a credit? For any paranormal romance lover out there this may surely tempt you but I have liked a lot of JF's other works more partly because of the 'missing previous info' and partly because I have now discovered goody goody Witches sadly just don't really do it for me..... So sadly, I would have preferred waiting until this was on sale.

Really Good but sadly just not for me.
This was a good book, but it reminded me that i don't like the witch books. Witch books for me are too chaotic, there are rules but you don't know them so it's hard to appreciate when characters do something impossible. Then the explanation after the fact that the character did do something exceptional is too late to impact the moment the impossible was done. That happened in this book several times, and exceptionally powerful witch vs simply powerful witch, or a powerful vs skillful, but in either case I could not appreciate the tension in moments of conflict because I didn't know the rules of this world. If this book had a follow on i could definitely enjoy it more because I now have a baseline for the rules of this world. The Love Story was good, I don't think this was any more hot than other J.F. books, but it did have more references to the abuse of women.

Storyline
It was a bit hard to comprehend in the beginning with the different accents and things happening seems like it started mid scene or something. But after the first few chapters I really got in to it. I really appreciated the storyline in general. It was unique and fun. It wasn’t in your face erotica, but it had a good story to romance ratio if ya know what I mean. Lots of different little things going on at the same time with different people. I do wish tho that there was more of Tatiana training her powers. More of letting us understanding her power. When we seen it it was from the outside in, so it was hard to catch what was going on all the time. Wish it was more in depth details of the power side of the story. Anyway, at the end I wish it has a second book! If ur in the fence or don’t know, grab it and give it a listen! It is quite entertaining!

Its not fair
Jacquelyn Franks books under her Jax name are really stinking good. Its a shame this is the only one to be on audio. There is one called The Bid and I would LOVE for it to be voiced...I hope when she makes a come back she will write more as Jax.
Concerning this book there is one big trigger people should know because I am unsure if it was mentioned. It has some heavily implied SA talk, flat out SA talk and even a scene where SA nearly occurs, its not to graphic but if that subject is triggering for you its a pretty heavy scene.
Other than that, its amazing! Its a hot lil one off story.

I am a fan of jacquelyn frank but .......
this book was EXTREMELY long the battles were slow builds, the characters were predictable and 2 dimensional.. ....simply .not her best. the nightwalker series; Jacob, Damien, Gideon etc.. great books well except Adam .
I even enjoyed hunting Julian and stealing Katherine. idk maybe it's the reader Xi Sands was just the best, get her back on board with all of your books
