  • HTP #193 - Kailee Rosen Returns... at Fan Expo Chicago!
    Aug 23 2024
Kailee Rosen joins me at Fan Expo Chicago for this live recording. We pick up right where we left off, following her appearance in Episode #183, and this time we are discussing her work in tarot cards, and using that as an allegory for how art affects us all differently. The two of us try to break down the barriers between digital and traditional art, as well as the classic frustration of just trying to get something started. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky, Twitter, or Instagram - @AaronBossig

  • HTP #192 - Bat Boughner III
    Aug 14 2024
Bat Boughner III is the grandson of Golden Age Comic Book artist Howard Boughner. Howard Boughner was the talent behind such creations as Mac, Peter and Polly in Toyland, Hold Everything as well as Penny and Dolly Dripple. In addition, he was the author of the how-to guides ‘Cartooning Jobs for Beginning Cartoonists’ and ‘Dictionary of things to Draw,’ both of which were influential for generations of future illustrators. Bat has a unique and very personal appreciation for Howard’s talents, and he’s graciously offered to share them on this episode of Hungry Trilobyte. Bat and I discuss Howard’s place in comic history, the mini strips in Captain Marvel and Mary Marvel issues, his notable humility, and what he might think of today’s comic industry and fandom. — See Show Notes at www.AaronBossig.com Follow me on BlueSky, Twitter, Hive, or Instagram - @AaronBossig
