The voices in this collection are extraordinary, but two stories in particular struck me deeply: the Russian woman and the Syrian man. Their experiences, so different yet connected by resilience and hope, are told with such honesty and vulnerability that I found myself pausing just to breathe them in. The narrator handles their voices with profound respect, giving each person’s history and emotion the space it deserves.
This audiobook is not just a collection of stories, it is a celebration of humanity, a reminder of the strength hidden in everyday lives, and a beautifully crafted ode to Brooklyn’s incredible diversity. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
