Publisher's summary

How does a bad day get worse, you ask? Well...

How about being squished between two huge, naked dudes with their meaty schlongs hanging out and everything?

It's all a matter of opinion, but Carter's day is going pretty badly. He's an engineer captured by bug aliens, now depending on his large, muscled, naked cage mates for food and warmth. They seem sentient, so that's good. But they're also handsy. Which is...complicated.

The military isn't looking for him. Slaves taken by the bug race never come back. Yet, Carter is very much alive, and if he wants to stay that way, he'll need to trust Pykh and Siel, two affectionate aliens with claws, teeth, and size.

Contains mature themes.

Spoiler Review

There are enough gushy reviews, so these are just some things I wanted to know before I started, and was glad to find after I bought it anyway.

(SPOILERS... ish?)

Bullet point version:
1. There is NO rape (...sort of)
2. This book isn't a kinky-threesome-alien-prison-"female dog"(I can't use swear words)-erotica with some plot laced in
3. The characters aren't some typical alpha/omega stereotypes
4. The aliens aren't just humanoid with different colored skin, they're furry, cat-like (sort of), and all sorts of how an alien should be if the author puts more work into creating them
5. The aliens are completely sentient and have great character development, but there's a language barrier between them and the Carter

Longer version:
1. Because they're slaves I was expecting rape, but was hoping there wasn't. It does mention that the bug aliens will rape some prisoners, but because of how sharp their... "parts" are it will rip up the insides of the person so it's pretty much a death sentence (at least that's what I gathered). So none of the three main characters have been used that way (it does become a close thing though, so if near-rape-but-rescued is triggering for you, maybe avoid this book)

2. There IS sex, and it's good, but there's so much more to the story, the summary was misleading for me

3. Because the title said "Human Omega", I was kind of expecting stereotypes (most alpha/omega books are like that, sadly), but when I listened to the book it felt a lot more unique and set apart from the norm (it might just be me though, I liked the differences).

4. I'm not good at imagining things I've never seen before, so I wasn't sure how to picture the aliens, but it was a pleasant surprise that they actually FELT like aliens, both from their perspective and from Carter's. And they weren't just like, blue with pointed ears or something.

5. The language and cultural barrier between Carter, Pykh and Siel was somehow adorable even while their situation had me almost on the edge of my seat (metaphorically speaking)

What you should take away:
This book is really nothing like what I expected from the summary (and maybe what you first thought as well), but was so much better. If it sounds interesting then go ahead and check it out, you might love it as much as I did. I'm eagerly waiting for the next one to come out (only a few more days! And it's twice as long!)

(Joel Leslie has been a favorite of mine for a while now, so I don't have much to say about his performance except I loved it. He even made Carter's chapters sound different from the aliens', so I could tell it was his chapter before I heard his name)

A HUGE fan of Eileen Glass

I'm a huge fan of Eileen Glass. I've pretty much read though almost all of her books on Amazon and am eagerly awaiting the 3rd Pykh book to be released. I LOVE the Pykh series. So when I noticed Audible released one of her books of course it instantly went into my library. Took a little getting used to the narrator, narrating all the characters because they sounded different in my head. But it didn't take long.

I usually am not the biggest fan of threesoms. But the way Eileen writes her characters you become invested into their lives. Each one has their own unique characteristics. And you can feel the mutual trust, respect, and love they feel for each other. And her world building is just plain epic. And the way her characters react in their situation and the world they live in. It's all just sucks you in and makes you root for them. It is the perfect balance of real, fantasy, and romance. HIGHLY recommend! And I hope Audible comes out with more of her work!

Such Perfect Voices For These Characters!

This is one of my favorite books in the category of humans with aliens, and Joel Leslie does an amazing job bringing it to life! He uses British accents for the two alien men (I'm pretty sure one of them is Scottish!), and they're perfect for those characters. The American accent for the human, Carter, was very appealing, too. The part until they escape the bugs is sadder listening to it than reading it because Leslie does such a great job with the emotion of the two aliens. But the rest of the book is lighter and hilarious at times with Carter's dry humor and Pykh discovering life outside captivity (and his constant sex drive!). I'm dying for book two to be ready!

Alien adventures, yes please!

This was a fun book! I'm not really familiar with the alien/monster with humans pairings, but I really enjoyed this. I liked the world building, the way events were explained simply and logically, without fuss. Carter is a space marine, captured by an invading alien bug race, which enslaves any other race it can find, and is placed in the cage with other slaves, Pyhk and Siel. They are amazing! I really enjoyed the culture building, how the author points out how Siel is different from Pyhk, who was raised as a slave and knows nothing of freedom, while Siel tries to teach Pyhk what he knows, and how he struggles with his enslavement. The action is entertaining, and the bug race is terrifying! The love between the cage mates is really sweet and heartwarming, and seeing Siel and Pyhk attempt to court Carter is cute and funny. I liked how it is written with different points of view, that really helped understand each character, and it made the adult scenes extra hot! I will be reading the sequel as soon as I can, because cliffhangers are torture. The narrator, Joel Leslie, is marvelous, I loved how he made Pyhk sound so innocent and naughty, and Siel's maturity stands out, and Carter's inner comments cracked me up. His performance is always on point!

Overlook the funny title, this is seriously good.

Yes, I nearly didn't get this book because of the title, but I am so glad I did. It is a seriously fun sci-fi space adventure with alien planets, giant disgusting creepy insect creatures. Also hunky space marines and oh my my sexy space cats!!
Yes this is m/m romance with interracial alien romance galore.
Its about Carter, who is a space marine who is captured and becomes a prisoner of the alien insects who have overtaken home planet of the Pykh and Siel who are also enslaved by the alien bug race who use them for labor, food and other things..eww.
Pykh was born enslaved to the bugs who he thinks of as the "masters", and Siel is his older lover who had a mysterious life "before", but is now Pykh's mentor, lover, friend and cage mate.
They both scent and claim Carter as soon as he is captured, saving his life and protecting him from the bugs. They have a canyon wide language gap in this book, but somehow the guys manage to communicate most of the basics. With POV from all three guys, we get insight into the misunderstandings in language barrier, which are sometimes pretty funny.
While the first couple of chapters were somewhat hard to get into, by the end of the story I was immediately ready to download book 2. I am now an avid fan of this series and can't wait for the further adventures of Pykh, Carter and Seil.

Don't let the description fool you this story is n

I am so glad that the 2nd book in this series is out in just a few more days. While it doesn't end with a cliff hanger it does end with a burning desire to know what happens next. The world building is creative and fascinating. The characters are unique and so loveable (in an anthropomorphic way). The pov is from all 3 MC's, each having a very different concept and understanding of the lives they are living. And of course, bringing different skill sets and interpretation to both the situation and their relationship. I absolutely loved it.

This book was narrated by John Leslie. As per usual, his talent and skill set take this story above and beyond expectations. I would definitely recommend listening to this story.

Love!

Don't let the blurb scare you off. This book is AMAZING. Pykh 2 (soon to be in audiobook) is even better. Pykh 3 will be released soon (ebook).

I mean, it's a weird premise, right? But it's so sweet, action-packed, and so funny. It's really got everything. You're doing yourself a major disservice if you don't read/listen to this. Joel Leslie brings all my beloved characters to life in the best ways. He's really great, the book is great, everything's great, just GET THIS BOOK.

????

Not sure what this was . Not much of a story, more like a chapter taken from the middle of a book ,neither the beginning or the end . it is certainly not a book.

Could have been so much better

This book just came out today on audible and I bought it because the blurb sounded so promising and I was excited. The good to me was that the writing of the characters was very detailed at least where the aliens were concerned, I felt much was not given about Carter and he needed more of a voice but still done pretty good.

What I thought brought the book down so much for me was the sadness. No, I don't expect for slaves to be happy but good grief and I felt Siel was mean to Pykh. He loved him but was still mean to him most of the time and looked down on him because he didn't know anything outside of being born into slavery. That wasn't his fault! I didn't totally dislike Siel and he was sad to because he was put into slavery after living a real life and just wanted to die.

But what really messed me up with this book was the end, just when it was getting good to me, it was over. I'm not sure I would call it a cliffhanger per se' but it definitely is not finished and you have to read the sequel. Well since I listened to it I have no idea if the second will even be made.

Joel Leslie as the narrator was excellent as always.
