    Living Proof of its Sucess

I was given a copy of this book when I was 17 years old, by my friend "Mad Harry". In it he wrote "Call me when you are Famous". Well I am not famous, but did get to be a director of a large company in my mid 30's, and I have to say, without this book, I doubt if I would have made it. I am known for getting things done with minimum conflict. Listen to this, it is very polite and old fashioned now, but the principles of how to deal with people are every bit as valid as when this wonderful book was written.

    So.............

Call me when you are famous!

    Don't expect a magic life-change

    1. This is an incredible book that has changed my way of viewing the world, and has done the same for many, many people.

    2. If you expect this book to give you the secrets to getting the perfect job, perfect car, perfect house - READ IT!! It may just do that. But in the process...it will do so much more for you.

    3. Don't read this book with the expectation that the world will change around you after reading this. Go ahead and think, "I would never be that narcissistic," but its ok - my guess is that 2/3 of the people who read this (myself included) subconciously expect that.

Not only will you learn techniques for resolving problems, overcoming objections and obstacles, and getting people to view you in a positive light - you will learn how to GROW as a PERSON. And surprisingly enough, it has very little to do with who you are, and more to do with how you treat those around you...

    Very uplifting!

The information presented in this book consists of very simple, common sense practices. Together they serve to help demonstrate politeness and empathy.

The stories supporting the principles are outdated but applicable with imagination. The narrator is entertaining and perfectly appropriate for the time.

If implemented, the ideas expressed in this text will help the reader become a better person without doubt, simply by being kind and considerate. You can consider the approach manipulative if you innately maintain that behavior. Generally speaking, hopefully most people do not.

What did you love best about How to Win Friends & Influence People?

Wow! Everything in this book seems sotally obvious but these are the things we never think about - the book is presented in a way that really makes you think about how you treat people and why we react the ways we do. The tips and stories are SO GOOD. This book has changed my approach towards talking to people and frankly, has changed my life.

Narrator is awesome, this is a great listen.

    Insightful, Fun, Clever

A copy at my parents' house had a 1967 copyright, and 10 million had already been sold. His examples each leave the reader wondering, 'How the heck is he going to get out of this one?' And he does. I'm not one to follow the sheep, but in this case everyone should follow Dale Carnegie. If all 285 million Americans did, America would be a much nicer & safer place to live in. It's not just empathy he teaches, but understanding how to use it to your advantage.

How to Win Friends and Influence People

Interesting use of real life stories and situations to back up some simple key messages. This was quite intriguing at first however started to get a bit much after a while, as one story was followed by another - some of which were a bit dated, and might not apply so well to modern day. Saying that the core messages are simple and easy to understand, and focus on common sense.
