Useful but not ideal in audio form!

My only wish is that I had a reference guide to read along with the audio version. There's so much useful information and websites, it's unfortunate to be listening rather than having them in writing in front of me. I think in hindsight, I'd rather read this book in paperback form. If Matt Kepnes happens to read this, it'd be awesome if you put together a quick-glance pdf guide for people who bought the book on audible! :)

Loads of great content!

While there is a lot of content the release date led me to think this was the newest version but it’s not.
Also the spelling out of tons of websites while useful if your listening with a pen in hand would be better in electronic form of some sort

What a Wonderful Book!

Matt, thank you so much for taking the time to collect and share your wisdom. To all people who want to know more about the reality of traveling, this is a must-read. I had many ideas in my mind about travel, most of them inhibitive, and this book helped me get past them. I was unsure about the whole thing, but now I'm going to travel the world. Thanks again!

Excellent read and reference guide!

Purchased in print after listening to the audio book. This is an amazing shoestring resource guide and includes some country-specific cost savings tips. Highly recommend!

Practical and straightforward

he makes no claims about how to travel the world in luxury instead its a practical barebones approach that makes real sense. its not incredibly easy, but not impossible.

botched my trip completely

my husband and I listened to this book twice separately to prepare for a year of world travel. And at no point do I recall him talking about the limited time you can spend in the Schengen zone as a US or Canadian citizen. we made plans to spend the entire summer in Europe slow traveling because it's cheaper. turns out none of those plans are going to work out because we are only allowed to spend 90 days total in Europe without getting a Visa prior. this should have been a way bigger part of the book. would have loved the memo that I should have applied for some sort of Visa *before* we left the United States. would have loved more elaborate explanations of the fact that you have to hop around Europe as quickly as possible if you want to see everything in the 90 day period. also most of his stupid travel tips are completely outdated because this book was written decades ago and the internet changes on a nearly daily basis. this book would only be helpful to a broke 20 something backpacker and even that is stretching it because it is so outdated. fail.

Great voice, and enunciation. Inspiring content.

I'm not ready to quit my job and travel the world, but now I have some tools to set off on that journey.

fantastic and interesting book, although listening to someone read out website names and such is slightly frustrating
