Publisher's Summary

A front-row ticket to the fight of the year: it's you vs. your brain.

There are plenty of books out there on how to survive a zombie apocalypse, all-out nuclear war, or Armageddon. But what happens when it feels like the world is ending every single time you wake up? That's what having anxiety is like - and How to Survive the End of the World is here to help. Or at least make you feel like you're not so alone.

From helping listeners identify the enemy to safeguarding the vulnerable areas of their lives, Aaron Gillies will examine the impact of anxiety and give listeners some tools to fight back - whether with medication, therapy, CBT, coping techniques, or simply a dark sense of humour.

bloody brilliant read, well listen.

loved it , long time person with anxiety, depression and PTSD just fantastic and really well written. Nice to have a book that isn't read by some robot who promises miracles. Very engaging and strangely fun. would recommend to both people with or without mental health issues, to get a better understanding of what our every days are like.

Great for many no doubt, but not for me

This book was humours, well written and narrated, but for me it focused on types of anxiety that had no relevance to me, focusing hugely on social anxiety and speaking to people - which I have little problems. I tried to transfer the thinking to my type of anxiety but it didn't transfer. A good book but I think it focuses more on an introvert, social anxiety type of anxious mind rather than others.

Life-changing. Funny. Important. And REALLY good.

I bought this book based on comments I'd read on Twitter, hoping that it would help me understand what a relative with anxiety might be experiencing. And it has! So much of it rang true, and has really helped me curb my well-meaning, but basically stupid efforts to help. I hope I'm a better listener now. It's so much the better for not being written by a professional. No pseudo-science or platitudes, but an honest account of managing an unconscious brain that's a bit of a git. My relative is 3/4 through listening to it now and is finding a strength that wasn't there before, seeking professional help, and seemingly accepting that things could improve. A heartfelt thank you, Aaron.

Funny, Insightful and helpful. We’ll put with some of the best lines I’ve ever heard such as “Teenage Mutant Nervous Turtles”.

Helped me for sure

Actually did help.

Been listening to this on recent walks and I have to say it's actually pretty damn good.

Having experience with severe anxiety it's helped a great deal.

It's written and narrated by the bloke behind Technically Ron on Twitter and the style is witty, self-deprecating but also informative.

Give it a whirl.
