Acerca de esta escucha
Everything about Jeremy has always been a lie - including his last name. When one grift too many ends in tragedy, Jeremy goes straight. But life's hard for an ex-con, and Jeremy is down to panhandling and hope when Rance Crawford offers him work at a tiny alpaca farm and fiber mill. Jeremy takes him up on the job, thinking this could be his last chance to be a good man, and meets Aiden, who is growing into a better one.
As Aiden comes of age, Jeremy finds himself desperate to grow up, too, because Aiden starts looking to him for things Jeremy doesn't know how to give. Being honest is terrifying for a man who's learned to rabbit at the first sign of conflict - more so when Aiden gives Jeremy a reason to stay that can't be packed up and carried in a knapsack. When Jeremy's past comes knocking at their door, can Jeremy trust enough in Aiden and his new home to answer bravely back?

Rance Crawford is an alpaca rancher, fiber mill owner, and self-proclaimed grumpy bastard. When sweet, charming tenderfoot Ben McCutcheon moves onto Crawford's rural road, Rance is very aware that Ben makes it a grand total of two gay men in their tiny town, and even though he is instantly, painfully smitten, any move he makes could be simply chalked up to being hard up.

More Granby greatness.
Book 2 tells us a little more of the Granby bunch. Jeremy's a grift-er that did time and wants to be honest, but really doesn't know how. Rance, Ariadne, and Aiden teach him how to live and love as a honest man, and how to put down roots.
Not a light and fluffy as the first, but not a angsty as Amy can get. Again the story stops short, but there is 2 more books that rounds out this storyline very well.

A scared rabbit
I loved the narrators voice. He made Jeremy sound like a con man at times, which he was, and lost and confused, which he was even more often. Aiden, just amazing

I loved it!
Any additional comments?
I swear, this series is so awesome. I don't know why I waited so long to get into this series...I swear I'm kicking myself.
Jeremy's story absolutely broke my heart in the best way possible. Everything about it tugged on my heartstrings and made me want to find him, bundle him up, and hold him close forever. Even better, where Jeremy kept breaking my heart, Aiden was always there to put the pieces back together. I loved the way I got Jeremy and Aiden's backstory, which just proved even more that these two belong together, and the wait to get them that way just made the whole thing even better.
I was sucked in from the first minute. Philip Alces does such a phenomenal job with the narration. He's so good!
My only complaint was the overuse of "Boy" and "Kid" when referring to Aiden. I understand why Jeremy does it at first - to distance himself from someone he felt an immediate pull to, but who was too young. However, continuing to refer to Aiden that way after they got together grated on me.
With that small exception, this was such a feel good, fuzzy, warm, sweet novella with so many emotional turns and some sexy times (finally) at the end.
I loved it!
I can't wait to continue the series!
Highly Recommended!

Outstanding story!
I love this book so much I've added it to my favorites list. To make that list it not only needs to be an extremely well-written book, but it also needs to tug at my heart.
Even though Aiden is ten years Jeremy's junior. It's Jeremy that has the most growth in this book. This book has all the feels and more. Like bunnies, knitting, friendship, and family.

Great slow-burn romance.
I really enjoyed this book and the audio performance by Philip Alces. I like reading stories about reformed characters and Jeremy is recently out of prison. He was raised as a con man by his con man/grifter father but is going straight after serving his sentence. Aiden is eighteen, working at the alpaca farm where Rance Crawford offered Jeremy a job; Jeremy is about nine years older.
The slow burn part is the time span from when Jeremy first comes to the farm and when he and Aiden get together about three years later. Jeremy feels like he isn’t good enough for Aiden but Aiden finally convinces him that isn’t true. Once they finally get together, pretty near the end of the book, things really heat up.

Love this series - and Jeremy!!!! So sweet!
This is the second (maybe the third?) in the Granby knitting series by Amy Lane. Aiden works for Craw, who we met in book one. Aiden is young, hasn’t done much else in life, and has been fostering a secret (or not so secret) crush on Craw. Craw knows he’s not the right guy for Aiden, especially now that he’s got Ben, but even before Ben, Craw thought of himself as more a father figure.
Jeremy is a con man who escapes “the life” just in time. He finds Craw and begins a new life, hiding from his past by working in the mill in the middle of nowhere.
Aiden and Jeremy are attracted to one another but there’s a lot in their way. Aiden thinks Jeremy might be straight (or confused). Jeremy thinks (knows) he’s not good enough for Aiden. Aiden is a virgin and not all that certain how to approach Jeremy. Jeremy always feels like he has one foot out the door, ready to “rabbit” away.
When they do finally get together Aiden has an uphill battle trying to convince Jeremy of his worth and trying to keep him settled, where he belongs.
**
This is a far more delightful love story (IMHO) than the first book. Jeremy has never actually had a relationship even though he’s several years older than Aiden. Aiden hasn’t had a sexual relationship either, but he’s had honest relationships with other people, so that makes him the more knowledgeable of the two. So we have this delightful flip/flop where the younger guy has to lead the relationship and since both are essentially virgins, it’s an awakening for them equally.
I love the symbolism of the knitting. Jeremy puts Aiden’s knitting away in the safe, lest they get worn or lost. Aiden tells him he has to wear it or it’s an insult! Cautiously, maybe finally believing in the future a little, Jeremy begins to wear the gloves and mittens Aiden has knitted. Like admitting, out loud, that he’s worth the chance Aiden’s taking and that he’s planning on being around, maybe forever.
I’m a huge Amy Lane fan, and I love the knitting series and I highly recommend this installment. I give it a 4.5 of 5 stars
Audio
Phillip Alces does the first book as well as this and he does a nice job. I’m not a big fan of his style but he doesn’t detract from the story. Sometimes he sounds almost out of breath and I find myself hoping he’ll slow down and breathe! He subtly changes some of the voices, giving them some character, and that’s nice. I wish he’d have done more for the emotion. It’s a deeply emotional story at times, and he reads at the same basic pace throughout.
He doesn’t pull you out of the story in a way that’s distracting and the editing is nice and the sound quality is good. Though it’s not my favorite he does a fine job.
I’d recommend the narration for people who enjoy audio books over reading or if you want a little different experience from the reading.
I give it 3.5 of 5 stars
