Completely agree.

As a physician that has gone through this process, many points touched on throughout this book resonated with me. And I agree with Dr. Dale that this book is more than just how to raise a Doctor but how to raise a leader with the values to succeed in any field.

Excellent guide for raising successful children

This is a fantastic book and I plan to use the tools provided within on my children as they grow up. Just like Dr. Okorodudu, I have small children and haven't yet raised a doctor. However, as a physician raised by a family of attorneys, the lessons in these pages truly resonate. I can see many of the same things detailed in the book (expectation setting, support, opportunity) looking back at my own childhood and this book really drove home how important those aspects of my childhood were to my present day success. Truthfully, this book could be called "How to Raise a Successful, Ethical Leader", because no doubt the lessons imparted here apply to a broad range of career opportunities. Well done, Dale!

Very Eye Opening!

I enjoyed this book very much. It has so many great tips I will definitely implement. I really liked how the author read letters from the parents and touched on personal stories that led him to be the man he has become. He was very honest and insightful. Great read for any parent even if their child doesnt want to be a doctor. It taught me tips on raising a leader. Also a great read for premedical students since it has so many useful tips on the admission process and what to expect en route to becoming a great doctor.

Excellent advice for any parent or mentor

Dr. Dale compiled a wealth of knowledge based on research, his own experiences, and advice from other parents on how best to mentor and prepare young minds for their future careers. Although primarily driven by experiences from the medical community, the principles in this book can be applied to helping children realize their full potential when preparing to enter any industry (and it starts early, so don't rule out this read even if you have young kids). I would highly recommend this book to anyone who holds a position of influence in a young person's life.

Words of wisdom from from parents to parents

Parenting doesn't come with a playbook. We assume the role then try our best and hope it works. I have read a few parenting books and this is by far the best and most practical. I love the parent's letters. I also think it was humbling of Dale to acknowledge the areas he wasn't the expert and defer to the accomplishments of those who achieved it.
