Parenting doesn't come with a playbook. We assume the role then try our best and hope it works. I have read a few parenting books and this is by far the best and most practical. I love the parent's letters. I also think it was humbling of Dale to acknowledge the areas he wasn't the expert and defer to the accomplishments of those who achieved it.

Dr. Dale compiled a wealth of knowledge based on research, his own experiences, and advice from other parents on how best to mentor and prepare young minds for their future careers. Although primarily driven by experiences from the medical community, the principles in this book can be applied to helping children realize their full potential when preparing to enter any industry (and it starts early, so don't rule out this read even if you have young kids). I would highly recommend this book to anyone who holds a position of influence in a young person's life.

Excellent advice for any parent or mentor

As a physician that has gone through this process, many points touched on throughout this book resonated with me. And I agree with Dr. Dale that this book is more than just how to raise a Doctor but how to raise a leader with the values to succeed in any field.

Completely agree.
