Publisher's Summary

Two audiobooks in one.

Stop Anxiety

Has your anxiety and worry reached very high levels to the point that you develop panic attacks? Are you seeing your life affected negatively to the end of avoiding a set of behaviors and situations that cause you discomfort?

I believe the information contained in this audiobook can help you as well as hundreds of people. Anxiety is characterized by anticipated concern about some future possibility. But have you ever wondered why some people are always anxious, while others remain calm in the face of the same situations?

Several reasons explain these differences among people, such as:

  • The emotional state of the mother during pregnancy. If she felt very anxious about the arrival of the baby or for any other reason, it is possible that the child has learned to be anxious.
  • People who grew up hearing that it is essential to worry about the future and that it is necessary to plan things can become anxious adults.
  • Insecure people with low self-esteem may feel anxious in different situations, precisely because they worry too much about what people will think.
  • Living the future is one of the ways people find to escape from the present. People who are dissatisfied with their lives may feel anxious for a future that only exists in their mind.

Becoming aware of the causes of anxiety is the first big step to begin to change that picture. Therapeutic work can help a lot in this process. Besides, there are some relaxation techniques that, when applied on a day-to-day basis, can be instrumental in controlling anxiety and bringing more calmness and focus to your life.

Improve Your Social Skills

Social skills entail learning how to start and sustain conversations. There are people that we often meet and since we do not know how to create conversations, the moments we encounter them are cold and sometimes awkward. This audiobook addresses some of the awkward moments in the process of socializing and interactions. Listening to the audiobook, you realize why the interaction has awkward moments and how our lack of certain attributes to facilitate interaction contributes to these moments.

In the audiobook, steps are highlighted and well elaborated on how to ensure that we are able to trigger our social skills in interacting with others. Those who have been having difficulty with keeping communications going for long will benefit from this audiobook as they will realize being sociable and enjoying being in social situations does not require you to have any special gifts.

In the audiobook, there is a chapter dedicated to highlighting the use of body language. This is because someone usually sends signals before they can even talk to us verbally. Inability to read people’s signals through their body language can make us be irrelevant when we approach people.

The audiobook also focuses on how to make friends. This s particularly for those who have problems with initiating friendship. This audiobook takes a dig into how people can interact in a way that can cultivate mutual friendship. The steps and skills that have to be exercised to this end are well elaborated to show you that making friends does not require someone who is talented at it. Everyone can make friendships if they follow the steps and start to exercise the skills discussed in this audiobook.

The issue of social anxiety and shyness is also addressed. This is for those who have strong fear for situations that require them to speak before people or interact with others. Steps to overcome the fear and develop courage and esteem are highlighted to make it possible for anyone to overcome the limitation.

The way to apply these skills to dating circumstances as well has been given out. This is as a way to help people be able to develop relationships and learn how to build intimacy. Skills of keeping a relationship going are described in a clear way in this audiobook.

Great book for every kind of person

Fantastic book. Really helped me during a hard time. I am a big fan, i’ve listened to all of her podcasts as well. I personally got this book because I struggle with anxiety/depression and was looking for healthy coping exercises. However, this is a book for any kind of person—whether you’re struggling or not.

Informative and life-changing

While the author sounds like she thinks she is only writing to CAPITAL S socially anxious people, this book will be beneficial to all people who are not psychopaths, and may help them also.

Helpful for my AVPD

I have not finished it yet, but I found this book very helpful so far. It's good to know that I am not the only one who feels afraid of people, of being judged, physical symptoms like shaking and sweating, and isolating. I have avoidant personality disorder, which is basically a severe form of social anxiety.

The best book for social anxiety

This book is the social anxiety bible. It is not some pseudo-intellectual B.S., but is actually backed up by science. I found it much more useful than books like the confidence gap or charisma myth that seem to contain way too much made up anecdotal information.

Life-changing Book

This is the real deal. I've struggled with social anxiety for as long as I can remember. I've listen countless other books about confidence and social skills, and they were only band-aids that never got to the root of the issue. This one is different. I couldn't put it down -- it was exactly what I needed to understand where my fears come from and how to overcome them. I'm actually *excited* to try things that would have made me cringe before. If you struggle with social anxiety, please listen this!

I've heard it all before

As a chronic online self-help article-skimmer, not much in this book was brand spanking new to me, but after listening it and really digesting and applying the material to my life, I feel like I can actually see a change. If you're like me, you might start listening this and think it's for some shut-in, crippled by fear, but keep listening , and open your mind. I was able to apply so much to my more mild anxiety, and I'm better because of it. I highly recommend this book.

Solid research in an accessible

Many popular self-help books are light on science, and many research-oriented books lack practical advice and are a slog to listen. Author totally nails the rare combination of a book with a solid research foundation that is chockfull of accessible tips and strategies. As a fellow clinical psychology Ph.D, it's clear to me that the author knows what she's talking about. She uses great story-telling and engaging writing to introduce well-validated techniques from CBT and other therapy approaches.

Awesome

Each chapter contains a compelling and useful tool on how to combat social anxiety, and what's more, together they paint a thorough picture of the, or at least my, social anxiety experience. Very few authors really capture the nuanced thoughts that occur during social anxiety, but this author is quite special in that she has personally had social anxiety and she knows how to describe the experience vividly.

By far the best book I've read on social anxiety

I've been wandering around the social anxiety self-help block for about 3 years now. I must have listen at least a dozen other books on this topic, from "best-selling" authors and groundbreaking researchers. However, no other books broach the topic as deeply and strike as close to my heart as this one.

Analyze Body Language

This book looks at the way people have to interact with others by practicing various social skills. These skills are sometimes lacking in certain people while other people have certain limitations in their personalities that render them unable to interact.

I like this book

This is likely the best social abilities book I've at any point perused, and as of late I've been perusing a great deal. I adapted a few things I wasn't hoping to learn, and I can't say enough regarding the sympathetic manner by which the material is introduced. I'd prescribe it to anybody.

Body Language best way to analyze.

The material is displayed in such a trademark and non-judgmental way, which is the reason I acknowledge this maker is so suitable. He makes the peruse anticipate what each new eliminate of ascending of timidity may bring, which is both protective and wise, to help set up the peruse for consistently.

Incredibly helpful, with issues that don't really

it would have been a great book if it weren't for the grammar mistakes. The grammar mistakes don't effect someone's ability to learn and understand the information from the book since they are minor and not very repetitive, but I still believe that most people would recommend some revision to really improve what this book has to offer. It's not perfect, but it is incredibly helpful.

Great book

There are many people that we regularly meet and since we don't have a clue how to make discussions, the minutes we experience them are cold and in some cases unbalanced. This book tends to a portion of the unbalanced minutes during the time spent mingling and cooperations. Perusing the book, you understand why the collaboration has ungainly minutes and how our absence of specific credits to encourage association adds to these minutes.
