AI narrator leaves much to be desired

I read this story on Kindle and was looking forward to hearing the audiobook but was unpleasantly surprised that it was narrated via AI. I should have listened to a sample first. Mispronounced words and stresses in the wrong places, chapters running into each other, etc... made it difficult to get through. I did manage to get to the end but it was a slog.

Story-wise it's sweet, although I wanted to slap her mother and shake him when he avoided her rather than talking things through more than once.
