How To Peel an Esoteric Orange

Bailey Knight’s father had taught her how to survive, how to face anything life threw at her. She was resourceful, tough, and nearing her graduation, ready to forge ahead, cutting her own path. Then the nightmare happened. In her dream, theworld crumbled, and she was left alone. Convinced it was a premonition, she searched for answers everywhere. But nobody could help. Either they ignored her, or they were so despondent themselves, they couldn’t look her in the eye. Tired, alone, and hungry, she went to the orange tree in her backyard, the one her dad warned her never to eat from. But she tried it anyway and before taking one bite, she passed out. Waking on a bench in the park, Bailey realized she needed help from someone who knew about these things, so she sat down at her rolltop desk to write a letter to her grandfather, Captain Dave. When she was finished, she put the note in a bottle and tossed it in the ocean. Thus began Bailey Knight’s journey to find the answers she desperately needed. It would take all of her resources and skills to survive a trip to a mysterious island and face the truth about the end of the world.
