Enjoyable Holiday Listen

I enjoyed this listen because it never became so heartbreaking that I'd want to stop. I've watched some of the chefs mentioned and was happy to hear how they got started and or celebrated the Holidays even when poor.

...Ehhh.

What do I want this holiday season...? better audible originals I get choose from every month.

Get more practical/business/self improvement options on the board. I don't think I care,
the burnout generation was okay, this... this.... I'm not sure why I even listened to it honestly.
I like cooking but I don't think I've ever care to remember famous cook names besides the
very few literally in the lime light.

So this was a story of a Jewish dude and Christmas... and then a use to be drug addict cooks
christmas stories?

Why? I'm not sure even with trying to see things from all points what I got from this.

A few months in a row I didn't even get any of these free audible originals because they were
all crap to my tastes.

These are GARBAGE compared to what the VIP audios you get to choose from on AudioBook are.

Quick Pleasant Holiday Discussion

Please note that 3 stars is the highest rating I feel I can give this without testing out the accompanying recipes in the downloadable PDF. Because the recipes from the featured chefs is used as an advertisement for getting this audio performance, I think whether the recipes are useful or not is significant to assessing the quality of this Audible Original production. The recipes included are for:

- Mac N' Cheese by Kwame Onwuachi
- Abe Fisher's Potato Latkes by Michael Solonov & Yehuda Sichel
- Helga's Meatballs by Marcus Samuelsson
- Granny's Five-Flavor Pound Cake by Carla Hall
- Roast Beef with Potatoes and Green Peppercorns by Alex Guarnaschelli
- Padma's Buttermilk Brined Turkey by Padma Lakshmi

The audio portion of this product was cut together really well and was a joy to listen to. This is a lovely reminder of how varied peoples' holiday celebrations are, and how much different traditions can be blended together, even within the same generation. I had my own family traditions in mind while listening to this, and it was great to learn how other people celebrate holidays.

There are Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas traditions mentioned here, so this is a celebration of the holiday season rather than one particular holiday. At only a little over an hour long, this would be great to have on in the background (maybe while prepping your own dishes)! I recommend to anyone who might be interested.

A podcast, not a book

I listened to this while cleaning and it wasn't particularly great or horrible as background noise. I can imagine this more as a podcast for the fans of these chefs.
