Publisher's summary

Welcome to Jerryworld and an all-access pass to the most valuable sports franchise on the planet, the Dallas Cowboys.

Many books have been written about the Cowboys, but there's never been an account like this one. How 'Bout Them Cowboys? tells the story of the NFL's most successful franchise, with special access to its outspoken owner, Jerry Jones, his sons Stephen and Jerry Jr., daughter Charlotte, and dozens of interviews of current and former players and coaches, and characters from across Cowboy Nation. While tracking the successes and controversies of some of the biggest names in the NFL on and off the field, How 'Bout Them Cowboys? remembers the legends of previous generations, and explains why the star on the helmet has become iconic, and how a little expansion team from North Texas has evolved into a global $5 billion brand.

Primed for their make-or-break 2018 season, How 'Bout Them Cowboys? delivers a fun and surprising account of America's Team, its greatest celebrities, its mercurial management, the vicious rivalries, and the enduring saga that makes this the most popular and polarizing team in sports.

Critic reviews

"Of all the teams in American sports, the Cowboys are covered the most relentlessly. And Gary Myers has filled this book with nuggets no one knew. A secret Tom Landry - Jerry Jones lunch leading to [Landry's] entry into the team's Ring of Honor? Get ready to learn fifty such things we'd never heard before. The book's a gem." (Peter King, NBC Sports, Pro Football Hall of Fame)

"Gary's decades of covering the NFL and his unique relationships with the biggest names in the game, make him the perfect person to tell the intertwined story of these NFL legends." (Mike Tirico, NBC's Thursday Night Football play-by-play and Olympics host)

"Gary is the gold standard against which other Cowboys reporters are measured. HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS? is a treasure box of fantastic stories from some of the most compelling figures in NFL history." (Ed Werder, former Dallas Morning Cowboys beat writer, ex-ESPN NFL analyst/reporter, Pro Football Hall of Fame)

I LOVE EVERYTHING COWBOYS…including this book!

I thought this book was fantastic! Despite being a lifelong fan (I’m 52) and growing up watching my cousin play (Doug Cosbie), there were still MANY stories and historical impacts that I never even knew about.
Well written, well read, and damn, Charlotte is a bad ass!

Not ‘Boys Will Be Boys’

I was concerned when downloading this book that there would be a lot of the same stories I read in another book, Boys Will Be Boys, which was a raw account of the 90s dynasty. While there are a few of the same stories it was not an issue.

Lots of info on Jerry Jones and the business side of the Cowboys. It does cover the Landry are and the Triplets era. But lots of stories about players and teams post Jimmy up until the year it came out.

Ill admit 5 stars because Im a fanatic.

History of Cowboys thru the lenses of Jerry Jones

if you are a Cowboys fan, this book is a must for the access, stories, and insights that is embedded in this book. if you are not a Cowboys fan, you may feel like this book is more about Jerry Jones and the Cowboys are the backdrop for the substance of the book. if you love NFL history, this is a must read to get information and context on aspects of Cowboys 60 years history that are not common knowledge.

How about them cowboys

I hate to write a bad review. This book could have been called the life of Jerry Jones. I love the cowboys, therefore I know jones is easily one of the worst GM’s. I was hoping for stories I’ve never heard but what I got was basically a football life in an audiobook of Jones.

Author probably isn't a Dallas Cowboys fan

Author puts a mostly negative spin on the Cowboys. He also rambles on about President Trump and the National Anthem/ knee and sit controversy. I would find a different book. Not recommended
