Publisher's Summary

Cormac pushed his feelings down deep and kept walking because it wasn’t true. It was unnatural. She was human. Beneath him. And then he was thinking about her beneath him. Damn.

For over 15 centuries, St. Patrick’s disciples have hunted the faerie kingdoms of Ireland nearly to extinction. Cormac MacConall - a cú sídhe, or “hell hound” from the faerie realm - escaped with his family and found refuge on the north shore of Lake Superior.

But when the enemy tracked them there, killing his parents, the hell hound reclaimed his nature, turning vicious hunter, seeking blood and vengeance.

Enter Meghan Walsh. Beautiful. Sexy. But human. An untouchable. And yet...he can’t help but touch her. She’s small. Naive. And yet formidable. And worst of all: his anamachara. His fated mate.

Could she be the key to what he seeks? Or could she be the enemy’s most lethal weapon yet?

Good

I got this book via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. I enjoyed this new take on the paranormal. Some of the scenes were predictable but overall it was a good story. There were times when I thought I would strangle both the H and h. The brothers cracked me up. Can't wait to listen to their story. This story leads you to know that there are more stories to come but without a cliffhanger. Wish other series writers would take this same approach. The narrator was good and went with the story.

Just OK

Decent story, the male narrator was great to listen to, had trouble listening to the lisp of the female narrator. So sorry, really tried to get past it, forwarded thru the last 4-5 chapters. Detracted from the ending of a pretty good story.

Very good

I found this audiobook to be a very good listen. It has a great combination of suspense, action and danger. The narrators both do a superb job of reading each character.

Love both the story and narrators!

Absolutely love this book. Great story and the narrators were amazing. No cliffhanger. Others already left detailed reviews. I can only add that I just bought book 2.

I was given this free audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Great read!

I don't usually read fairy/fae books, but I really enjoyed this one. From the storyline to the narrators, it was great. Both narrators were excellent and really drew me in. I received this audiobook for free in exchange for an honest review.

Koromac's equal

I wish I could have given this book 4.5 Stars it was really good. the narrator's were wonderful, especially the narrator for Mac his voice was sexy. This is the first hellhound book I have had the pleasure of listening to and really enjoyed it. Koromac and Megan's love story was exciting, heartbreaking, and just plain romantic. Spoiler alert *** Mac was a broken man/hellhound alone in the world and his only purpose in life was vengeance. Megan was an innocent young woman who felt she was a burden on her aunt and uncle who raised her. She ran away from them into Koromac's life. You must listen to find out how two unlikely people become one. Not only does this book make you feel every emotion under the rainbow, but it kept me chuckling. I have found a new author to follow and can't wait to hear book 2.

Fantastic story

What a gem I found in this book. It is a paranormal romance about a Hellhound hunting a serial killer and a lost and down on her luck halfling. There is lots of suspense that will keep you guessing throughout the entire book. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed.

Overall this was a good paranormal story.

My only complaint is that the battle at the end was quick and I found it a little anticlimactic.

Cormac “Mac” is a hell hound shifter and is hunting a group called the Black Castles, when he runs into Meghan, his fated mate. Both Mac and Meghan have sad pasts due to the Black Castles. The two join together to fight the Black Castles with the help of Macs brothers.

Both Michael and Simona did a great job. This is the first audio I’ve listen to where they switch off chapters so it took me a minute to get into the grove, but when I did it was nice.

I really enjoyed this story and want to see what happens next with the brothers.

What am I? A canary!

I love the reaction when he tells her what he is. I love the story of Cormac’s history and his parents specifically. I love that he is so dedicated to that past and how he feels bound to “avenge” them. Meghan’s responses to many things are exactly what I would say or do or feel so she was easily relatable for me. I think that the story developed very organically, making it feel like it wasn’t very rushed.
This was my first story by AS Green and I really can’t wait to finish the series!
This was also my introduction to both narrators and I was blown away and can’t wait to hear more from them! They are fantastic!

Enjoyed

I really enjoyed the characters, they had such depth and history. Lots of twists and surprises, but a great romance. I think I hopefully spotted a future romance as well! This is a series and I really liked this beginning book. The audiobook had two narrators who did an amazing job making me feel a part of the story. Can't wait for more. I received this audiobook by my request in exchange for an honest review from Audiobook Boom.

Modern Paranormal Romance Steeped in Irish Myth!

This audiobook is very well narrated and the story is very interesting. There are several branches of shee that escaped persecution in Ireland and have moved to parts of the US. Only their sworn enemy, the Black Castle, have followed them. The Black Castle are humans committed to hunting and destroying the shee. Cormac, a hellhound shee, lost members of his family to this war and, in turn, is committed to vengence. In the process he stumbles upon Megan, a human who just happens to be his destined mate. But Megan isn't who she seems and she also may have a link to the Black Castle!

This story is pretty detailed and fast moving. Through out the story there is a sense that something is going to happen at any moment. Just when the audience gets comfortable, the plot twists and thickens. As I understand it, this is book 1 in the series. I am looking forward to experience the rest of the series too!

This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.
