Great quick read

Hounded by Marla Brazil was a good quick read. Claire stumbles upon a puppy that was left alone in the woods. As time goes by Claire realizes that Fido isn’t who she thinks. This was a great quick read.

Great Read!!

I loved this little story. Not gonna lie I normally stay clear of books that are less than 3 hours. I think they don't give you enough story and time to get to know the characters but boy was I wrong with this one!! This was a very quick listen and very quick paced. You get to know Claire who at a young age looses her parents and has to live with her aunt and uncle. She comes across a white wolf like puppy laying with its dead mother. She feels instantly connected to the pup because it also is an orphan. She grows up with this pup over years and the bond they have is very strong. The ending though oh my goodness! This was quite the emotional ride for only 2 hours! I very much enjoyed it!
Kate Taylor did a great job narrating this and I loved Marla Braziel's work! I will check out more by this author!

Very interesting tale

Great short read. Some new mythology to me in the form of "devil dogs" sorry I read that and think marines. This is a story that covers from a young teen into her adulthood and though it reads like a YA book it is definitely for a slightly older or mature audience mainly for one scene in the book. The plot was well thought out and the characters well well developed even for such a short book. By the end I saw who each person was and what drove them. From power trips to lust from a good heart to a true friendship.

The narration was excellent, I really like how she handled the book, The pacing was excellent, not over dramatized so the story shone through.

I will definitely be looking for more from both this author and narrator.

Short shifter romance

I just finished listening to this and have some mixed emotions about it. It is definitely an adult book but the writing is more like a YA book with sex. It's very short and moved along quickly, the narration was pretty good, the storyline was interesting and it kept me listening. In addition, I ran through a few different emotions in a short period of time. Fido was very loveable and his puppy love was so sweet. Not your typical girl finds pup story...

Hounded by Marla Braziel in not your usual girl finds cute puppy story. First off, there's more than meets the eye to this pup. Fido has red eyes and a classmate of Claire's has an idea of what Fido actually is. Claire and Fido grow up together and Fido is extremely devoted to Claire. I don't want to give away the story, but as things start to get serious with Claire and a local boy, Fido reaches maturity and crazy things start to happen. This was a fun story, though the ending was a bit odd and I felt that the ending overall was rushed. I would have liked the ending to have been fleshed out a bit more. I think that way it wouldn't have been so abrupt.

Kate Tyler did a good job narrating this novella. She bring life and emotion to the characters, which I really enjoy. There were three or four instances where the recording sounded poor and you could tell that it was where a small portion had been re-recorded and it didn't match up with the original recording. Aside from those few instances though, I enjoyed her narration and look forward to listening to more of her performances. A tale with a twist!

Hounded is a novella with an interesting twist; however, I cannot expose the twist without spoilers. I can say, there is a touch of the paranormal involved in the story which adds a lot to the twist. A young girl , orphaned, was taken in by her aunt and uncle who lived in a rural area and had much less means than her parents. However, they tried to help her be happy. The girl found a puppy, out in the woods, all alone. The puppy adored her. As they both few up, things changed you have to listen to find out how. The narration is well done and draws you into the story. Well done.
