It was good

This is my first book from Clare Lydon, I use to play soccer in high school. I was the goal keeper and we won state in my senior year. However back in the day, it wasn’t the popular sport as it is now, I always watch the World Cup. So I enjoyed and understood the game in this story. I also enjoyed the MC however (spoiler alert) I’m not a huge fan of characters that don’t communicate in the story that leads to a breakup, I guess that’s the writers way of writing. I though the narrator was very good, especially perfecting the accents. Great job there! And I loved the Acknowledgment and thought it was thoughtful from the writer. Overall a 4 star for me!! I would support this writer!

Great story!

I really related to this one! I love Clare Lyndon books, but I think this is my favorite. Having played in college in the US I think the story was pretty close to real life of a female soccer player. It’s not quite the same as a professional league, but it’s soooo relatable! Great read!

Great book!

Best football love story in a while! Even though Spain won this last World Cups against England’s Lioness team this year 2023. Your British team was spot on! As an avid soccer fan here in the US, I appreciate your writing this lovely book!

It was a wonderful story with a clearly defined plot. The two main characters had enough chemistry to light all of London! The supporting characters were adorable except Jess who was a ring tailed b….!

The narrator was great in depicting all the English idioms and Sloan’s American accent.

Overall, an excellent book!
