Oh the Hostile Workplace

I really liked Bex’s, Sam’s sister. Her attitude really was fabulous. I like that she was looking out for Sam.

I really tried to reserve judgment about Sam until the end of the book hoping he would redeem himself. But I found him lacking. And I hate that. I try and find something about a character I liked and I just couldn’t find one in Sam.

He was a woe is me kind of character. I don’t like that, and then he wanted to be all dominant…And he was all about how fast he got hard when he sees a female… Really… Dude… Yeah sorry fella back down. I am all for a broody bad ass but he has to have some sweet in him. Something that calls to me that says hey this guy is just misunderstood.

I get it he had his heartbroken and that sucks but then he made the choice to be in a relationship and ask her to marry him. If you’re NOT happy dude, then you owe it to not only yourself but to HER and end it.

Nope he waited and only did it when there was a “reason” to do it.
His Quote had me plinking my iPad. Lol
“Jenny deserves his love but he doesn’t deserve hers.”
In the end I don’t think either one deserved each other’s love.
He was hung up on his ex from college. I get it but still.

I kinda like Jenny even till the end! Ha I am crazy like that. I mean the girl would have ended up miserable either way that’s what lies do.

Not a fan of Lydia either the blame game is old. But in the end I am glad she gets her HEA.

Over all tooo much DRAMALAMA for me.

I really wanted to like one part of the book and I did Bex :)

Would I recommend it sure to someone who likes angst, and drama in their romance. I wish that was me it just really isn’t.

But I will tell you why I keep on listening, La Petite Mort & Ruby Rivers. His voice is yummy, smooth and gruff in all the right ways. And even though I wasn’t a Sam fan I was a L-P-M fan ohhh yeah.
Also really like some of Ruby’s female voices the husky ones were my favorite.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Wow!! What a book!

A.M. Madden is a new author to me, whereas I have listened to several books performed by Ruby Rivers and La Petite Mort and thought they both did an excellent performance. La Petite Mort has a voice that melts. I enjoyed all of the unexpected twists this complicated book had. This story is a second chance at love. The sex is intense, but unrealistic in my opinion. I thought some of the drama in the book was very realistic, and loved the humor. My review is not a synopsis of the book, but rather my opinion of it. I was voluntarily provided with this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, publisher, and/or narrators. Sam's sister Rebecca was my favorite character in this book.

Breathtaking performance!

Would you consider the audio edition of Hostile Workplace to be better than the print version?

I love A.M. Madden. The audio version takes the book to new places. I will read and(!) listen again. Incredible.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Hostile Workplace?

When Sam reconnects with his former love.

What does Ruby Rivers and La Petite Mort bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The narrators are phenomenal. Dual narration seems like the new normal for romance. I love it. So, so hot. This is an experience.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Passionate love from the past returns.

Any additional comments?

Ruby did a good job of capturing all the different female characters. La Petite Mort's voice is simply sinful.

Office romance

Any additional comments?

I LOVE Sam Stanton. I didn't know if I would when I started it, but he really grew on me. He's determined, driven, and lost.

Doesn't make much sense, but it's true. He's in a relationship with a woman who is NOT the woman he wants. Because that woman broke his heart years ago.

He puts all of his time into his job. He's a jerk and not easy to please.

His fiance is so atrocious I don't even remember her name. Honestly, if you've ever wanted a bad female character--and not badly written, but just a real beeyotch--this is it. This chick takes manipulative to a whole new level. You're gonna hate her when it's all over, if not sooner.

But then there's Judy, who is pretty cool. I like her. You will too. Promise.

And Lydia. Oh, the one who got away. The one who broke his heart. The reason he's distant. The reason he's horrible to work for.

She's back and she's determined to put her past firmly behind her.

*I listened to this and the narrators were great. La Petit Mort gets my vote every time.

I want a Hostile Workplace with Sam

What made the experience of listening to Hostile Workplace the most enjoyable?

I love the dual narrator aspect. He made Sam sound oh so cocky! That is what I enjoyed best, other than the story itself.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the twists and turns. The characters are amazing. I already loved them after having read and listened to Love on the Horizon.

What does Ruby Rivers and La Petite Mort bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

They bring a great perspective to the story. They give the characters a voice, it's so different than reading it.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Everyone deserves a Hostile Workplace!!!

Any additional comments?

Everyone needs to listen to this book. Sam is oh so cocky, but oh so great!

Mama needs a fan!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. That was better than a movie. Mama's been 'round the block a few times; this was something special. The audio was fired up and ready to go.

What other book might you compare Hostile Workplace to and why?

It is like Madden's other books but different too.

What does Ruby Rivers and La Petite Mort bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

My headphones almost melted. I had to stop and fan myself. This author and the two narrators will make you change your lady garments.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Too hot for television.

Any additional comments?

That La Petite Mort makes an old woman's head spin and heart flutter. Lawdy, lawdy! Where's my heart medicine?

Hostile Workplace

Any additional comments?

The story starts out with Sam and his girlfriend Jen (who turns out not to be the person everyone thought she was). Sam learns her first lie and breaks up with her. Then Sam is up for a promotion, but finds out he has to compete for the position and in walks his ex. Sam has never gotten over his high school sweetheart. And apparently neither did she. This is her was to closure. As more secrets and lies come out from Jen (and Sam takes all the blame, this really annoyed me) their lives get turned upside down. Nice narration.

THIS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER BUT.....

Any additional comments?

The narration is horrible. I don't particularly enjoy the dual narration and it was over the top. I could have enjoyed the story because the premise was pretty good. The male narrato could have been really good if not so animated. If you can get past the narration you may be able to enjoy the book.
