Publisher's Summary

Gabrielle, an African American college graduate, is working for peanuts in her hometown of New York City with an Ivy League degree. Already living the urban life, she was surprised to get a full-time job after applying Online for a Boston startup. For this young African American teenager, things were looking on the up and up.

Knowing that the urban scene in Boston would be much different didn't make a difference for Gabrielle. She just wanted a chance to launch her career and pay off her college loans. However, there are twists throughout her first day at work that she must deal with; her white co-workers keep staring at her and the manager is being overly assertive. Gabrielle keeps her composure, but is in for a surprise when the day ends.

This is Eric Reese's debut in the urban fiction genre which mixes some young adult themes such as prejudice, coming of age, and urban life. Unfortunately, Gabrielle is in the middle of it all.

Awesome Author, Excellent Narrator

Well done Eric Reese!
It is really a job well done by this author. I just spent almost 4 dollars only and in such a low amount I've got a short but excellent story. I wish it would be long a bit. But in this price you must not miss this interesting story.

Short but very interesting story.

Any additional comments?

This is an interesting short story of a girl. Actually, the author has chosen a sensitive topic and presented it really well. I enjoyed it.

Not enough meat in this short story

I understand that it's a short story, but the entire thing was still too diluted to be complete for my taste. I spent the entire time waiting for some clarification on what was happening. It was just okay for me.

Interesting story about homegirl!

I love this story about a young African-American woman. The narrator makes this story very believable. She shares her day-to-day activities and struggles. Then it becomes a murder mystery and she looks guilty. Read on or listen!!! I did and liked it.

What an awesome short story

One of my colleagues suggested me this story in audible version and I've just called him to say him thanks for suggesting me this interesting story. The author presented a girl here as main character which is an improved character. Grab it, I'm sure you'll enjoy.
