Publisher's summary

All roads lead to home.

It's easy to go through life believing that we can satisfy our longings for home with three-bedroom, two-bath slices of the American dream that we mortgage at 4 percent and pay for over the course of 30 years. But ultimately, in our deepest places, we're really looking to belong and to be known. And what we sometimes miss in our searches for the perfect spots to set up camp is that wherever we are on the long and winding road of life, God is at work in the journey, teaching us, shaping us, and refining us - sometimes through the most unlikely people and circumstances.

In Home Is Where My People Are, Sophie Hudson takes listeners on a delightfully quirky journey through the South, introducing them to an unforgettable cast of characters, places, and experiences. Along the way she reflects on how God has used each of the stops along the road to impart timeless spiritual wisdom and truth. Nobody embodies the South like Sophie Hudson, and this nostalgic celebration of home is sure to make even those north of the Mason-Dixon line long to settle in on the front porch with a glass of sweet tea and reflect on all of the people in their lives who - related or not - have come to represent home. Because at the end of the day, it's not the address on the front door or even the name on the mailbox that says home but the people who live and laugh and love there, wherever there might happen to be.

Like visiting with a dear friend.

Honest, familiar and funny! The book title and design caught my eye. After hearing Sophie’s voice on the sample I knew I’d like the book. Her stories from the South hit home for this Texan living in California. It makes me want to move back home.

Over the Top Sweet

I absolutely loved this book, and healing Sophie read it herself was the icing on the cake. To this dyed in the wool Baltimorean, her charming southern accent just warmed my heart!

Beautiful reminder of the importance of finding our people, our place and recognizing our priorities!

I loved Sophie’s personal stories throughout the book. So many truths that people can relate to in their own lives and understanding of recognizing and realizing we are right where are supposed to be and can be used for God’s glory.
