Publisher's summary

As soon as the mistletoe goes up, that's when life gets really interesting.

Darcy Shaughnessy has gotten used to her overbearing brothers chasing away any man she wants to date. But a chance meeting with a brooding - and deliciously handsome - artist is about to make this holiday season one to remember.

There's only one thing Benjamin Tanner loves more than his woodcarving: solitude. Then he gets snowed in with Darcy in his cozy cabin in the woods, and their heated feelings begin to melt the icy barrier between them.

With Ben's need for privacy and Darcy's love of family and social life, will opposites still attract once the snow clears and the holiday festivities come to an end?

Holiday Spice

Holiday Spice is one of the worst books I have listened too. A couple in this series were not too bad.. But this one went on and on how both the main characters were like they were because the parents were dead. The female her mother had died when she was little we have heard the family talk about it in every book. The female lead was pathetic so bossy selfish just skipped a lot of it. The book seemed to be one long argument. The male narrator was shocking the worst ever. Expect these plus books to be very poor but this one was really awful.

The voice

I just couldn’t get over the reader in this book. His voice just drove me crazy. Barely started but it seemed like maybe it was ok story/written wise, but the reader.... just couldn’t stick with it.

Loved the book - male narrator was not for me

I loved the book and have churned through this series. The male narrator was annoying to me the whole series. I know part of it is that I live in an area where we talk faster than most so I sped up the narration to 1.25. But then it showed the difference between the female and male narrator even more. The male narrator was fine when he when he wasn’t trying to do Ben’s voice. I just think I would have enjoyed it more if he just used the same voice he did to narrate the rest of the book.

Excellent narration!

It was kind of a dramatization than narration. There was the narrator and then Darcy was voiced by Julia Motyka. I have never listened to a romance this way and I liked it. Julia made the conversations come to life because it was a woman speaking the woman's parts. Great listen.

The story is a pretty good - it has to do with a grinch and lover of Christmas that clash. It was a fun. It kept me engaged and I enjoyed how the two narrators made the book come to life.

Yes

For some reason I wasn’t really looking forward to listening to Darcy’s story - not sure why - just hadn’t connected with her, particularly, in previous books. But I LOVED it. I loved her and Ben and how the whole series was all wrapped up. I’m probably going to go through some withdrawals now that I’ve finished them all.

Dreadful narration

The male narrator sounds like he’s reading with a mouthful of marshmallows. I would loved to have finished this book, but couldn’t make it past the second chapter because of the narration. Such a disappointment.

Hard to listen to

The audio voice for the man who narrates, who is the voice of all the males, is stilted and uninspired. About four chapters into it, I had to turn it off. I may have enjoyed the book of I were reading it but listening to this production was rough!

Holiday Spice has classic written all over it.

A little holiday magic to experience all year round. That's the best description for Holiday Spice. Every Shaughnessy has had their shining moment and taken a piece of my heart along the way, but Darcy sealed the deal. This time, Ms. Chase went for broke and laid claim to my heart in it's entirety. Ms. Chase ends her Shaughnessy series with a romance that has classic written all over it.

Hard to like Darcy but some of story was touching

Hard to like Darcy... she is super immature,, selfish, and rude but some of story was touching, especially the eplilouge. I liked Ben very much, but the supporting storyline with the other family members was the enjoyable part... watching the family grow ( especially Owen).

Still for me, my dislike of Darcy's character overshadowed everything else. A mixed bag for me.

Couldn't finish

The narration is horrible. The 6 year old character sounds like she's 40. The Male narrator sounds like a kid not an adult. could not even get past the first chapter! IMO there's too many good audio books to waste time on this one.
