Top 10 Amazon best seller in Literary Short Stories

When Knox Campbell goes to Portugal for a short business trip, he never planned on losing his documents. Now he’s stranded in Porto, his passport lost, and his credit cards canceled. Unable to return to the US and without a place to stay, Knox turns to the travel agent who suggested the local day attractions for assistance.

Jacinta Romano loves helping her clients set up their dream trips, although she doesn’t usually meet the ones visiting from abroad. But all that changes when a client shows up at the agency while her meddling family is still there. They latch on to him immediately, insisting Jacinta bring him home while he’s stranded. Thankfully, he’s only staying until his new passport arrives and after two weeks of playing hostess, she’ll be glad to send him on his way.

Or will she?

The Romano Family series follows the stories of the Romano cousins of northern Portugal as they find love and their happily-ever-afters.

Sweet romantic introduction to a new series

This is a fun novella, which I like for a quick afternoon or evening read. Knox Campbell goes to Portugal for business and his wallet is stolen so he has no money, no I.D. and no passport. He goes to the travel agency to see if someone there can help and he meets Jacinta Romano, the person he's been in contact with via email. Knox is stuck in Portugal for 2 weeks until he gets a new passport. Her mother and her aunt happen to be at the travel agency when Knox comes in and when they hear about his problem they invite him to dinner, where he meets the large, crazy Romano family.

There are a few funny moments because of the language issue--her grandparents don't speak English and Knox doesn't speak Portuguese. Knox and Jacinta's story ended too quickly--I wanted a few more chapters. It's a squeaky clean romance (just a couple of kisses). We meet her cousin Matias who has his own story in the next book. The author does a wonderful job helping the reader picture the scenery in Portugal. I look forward to reading about the rest of the large Romano family.

The narrator does an excellent job with the different characters, and the bonus is now I know how to correctly pronounce Matias' name.

Cute Story Set in Portugal but Really Short

This was a quick, foreign, romance novel. I thought the premise of it was cute, and I love books set in other countries. The characters were sweet and I loved the big family setting. There were similar parallels to My Big Fat Greek Wedding or Hallmark type movies. I would listen to more in the series. If you are looking for a quick, fun romance to put you in a good mood, this story is perfect for that.

My only "complaint" is I wish they were longer. It felt more like a novella and less like a first book in a series. Not the story telling just the length.

Mary Jane Conlon does a great job with the narration.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left an honest review.

Very Short and Sweet

While I wish this story had been longer and more in depth, it's a good introduction to the series and meeting the Romano family. The narration is pleasant and accent is soothing. I'm hoping to see more about Knox and Jacinta to get to know them better.

Cute story

Short but cute story. Knox is robbed of his wallet and passport on his last night in Portugal, now he has no way to return home. He heads over to the travel agent who had arranged his stay...and is smitten. Jacinta lives her job and her family, even if they can be overbearing at times. When she finally meets her client, it’s too late in the day to do much for him so she invites him to dinner with her family. A tentative friendship is born, which quickly morphs into more as Knox waits for his travel documents. Nice HEA.

an enjoyable clean romantic story

This was an enjoyable short story. I tend to like the longer ones better more detail. This is a great love story for when you only have a few hours and know things are going to get busy and you don't want to be left in the middle. A wonderful narrated story really bring an already amazing story to life.

Sweet short romance set in Portugal

This is the story of Knox and Jacinta. Knox loses his passport and wallet and turns to Jacinta for help.
The narrator does a good job. True love triumphs. There isn’t much conflict other than the lost wallet and passport. But Knox and Jacinta and her family are well described and it’s a sweet story.
