Publisher's summary

The true stories of the shocking Wehrmacht war crimes and atrocities....

The Second World War was, no doubt, one of the worst experiences mankind has ever faced. From torture to rape to murder, crimes against innocents were innumerable - Adolf Hitler, a diminutive man with the oratorical skills of a genius, took advantage of a sensitive situation in the aftermath of Germany’s defeat in the First World War and amassed enough power to bring the entire European continent to its knees.

In the forefront of Hitler’s troops were the Wehrmacht, which had some of the most elite, most powerful, and most brutal soldiers in the world.

What’s sad is that at the end of the Second World War, when the Nuremberg Trials took place and most of the WW2 criminals were tried and then punished, the Wehrmacht was declared as not a criminal organization. This was because of a legal technicality and loophole that left them as simply part of the German Armed Forces. Just because they were ruled as "not a criminal organization" doesn’t mean that they weren’t criminals - there are even some who would deny that these men were war criminals, but that lies on par with those who would deny the existence of the Holocaust itself, given that there is ample evidence to prove the evildoing of the Wehrmacht soldiers....

I wasted a monthly credit

This book is a poorly written attempt to place all German Soldiers in the same vein as some of the badly led Schutzstaffel units or maybe the Einsatzgruppen, however the author doesn't mention the existence of the Einsatzgruppen.
The book has inaccurate information regarding Germany as a country, the Wehrmacht in general and more specifically with different divisions such as the Nordic Division, dates..., times..., blatant disregard of currently known information from that time-frame.
Based on the content, I have to surmise the publisher refused to authorize funds for research.
In-lieu of the author's obvious misunderstanding regarding definitions of commonly used words, the lack of ability to write a detailed tale of accurate awe-inspiring observations mingled with facts mean that; this book is not worth the megabytes of memory required to download it.

rambling conclusory polemic

Conclusory accusations without serious discussion or analysis. while making a few factual statements no real discussion I asked for my money back.

Misleading.

From the description, I was given the impression I came into this audiobook with was that there would be first-hand accounts being read to me. What I got instead was a rambling, insistant polemic that doesn't trust survivor accounts to speak for themselves, instead just bluntly summarizing them to make a point (that I agree with) which is poorly argued.
