Publisher's Summary

His code name is Mr Clark. And his work for the CIA is brilliant, cold-blooded, and efficient...but who is he really? In a harrowing tour de force, Tom Clancy shows how an ordinary man named John Kelly crossed the lines of justice and morality - to become the CIA legend, Mr Clark.

This is an unforgettable journey into the heart of darkness. Without mercy. Without guilt. Without remorse.

My First Tom Clancy Book

What did you like best about Without Remorse? What did you like least?

Without Remorse was the first Tom Clancy book I've ready. It was very refreshing to read a new style and type of story line.
The audio quality was easily the worst I've heard though. Very unclear and little or no expression from the narrator.

How could the performance have been better?

The voice was unclear and rather expressionless when compared to all the other Audible books I've listened to.

John Clark before CIA

What did you love best about Without Remorse?

The creation of CIA agent John Kelly AKA John Clark and the drug dealers and sex slavers getting what they deserve.

Have you listened to any of Michael Prichard’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes I have but I will not rate his performance as one of the best as he is just to monotonous.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes as you just want to know how John Kelly will make the Dealers and slavers pay.

Listen to sample before deciding to purchased

First audible purchase ever returned ,the reason being poor sound quality and dull narration. I do realise that like or dislike of a narrators style can be highly subjective though so I would urge all would be purchasers to listen to a sample before deciding to buy but as for for me the dull monotone style in which this title was read coupled with muffled sound quality made, what should have been a fast paced thriller, into an incredibly dull experience .

Superb story from a master author

Took a while to get going, but the action and suspense is excellent.
In the beginning I found the reader a bit monotonous and lacking the acting ability of say Robert Glenister or Colin Mace.
However he seems to relax into the story too, or my own empathy with the characters provides a subconscious infill to round off the tale.
But a brilliant story nonetheless with a fitting finale. I'm intending to read all the Jack Ryan novels in order so watch this space.

Sound quality an issue

Great story, well narrated but the sound quality is very poor sounds like it was recorded on tape.

Gripping from start to finish

This is a long book, which put me off initially. however the narration is spot on and the storyline is brilliant. you'll be guessing right up to the end.

Great story, average narration.

The narration is monotonic at first, it gets better as it goes on. Great story.

Very poor sound.

The recording sounds like one of old timey world war radio shows, it needs to be remastered because unless its dead quiet, immersion is impossible. I cant say anything about the story because i haven’t got through much of it yet so ill be buying the paperback for this. If you can get past the sound quality then go for it, but for something so expensive i expect better quality than this.

Probably the best Clancy novel......

I've always loved this book so it was an easy choice for an Audio book.

If you love Jack Ryan stories and in particular those involving Clark and Chavez then this is a must!

Narration is good, albeit with some cheesy accents and poor interpretation of military terms and acronyms but if you don't know any better then they won't bother you!

Great book, decent narration. Highly recommended purchase.

Very disappointing

Unfortunately a good book ruined by narration reminiscent of a 1930’s new cast. Couldn’t finish it.

Narrator a bit monotone but book is fantastic

The narrator is quite monotone and doesn't alwsys make it clear who is talking by changing his voice. That aside the book is fantastic and shouldn't be left unread. Listened every moment I could.

Bloody Brilliant!

I loved this book after I got used to the narrators voice which I found at the beginning very lacking in depth however it improves as the story gets going and the narrator gets into the characters more. Overall a 9/10!

Great story, not so great reading

The story is very engaging with the trademark attention to detail. The narration could have been better though. The reader has made minimal use of modulation which makes it difficult to understand when different characters are speaking at the same time.

The monotonous voice of the narrator spoils the story while the plot is very simplistic
