One of the best!!! I knew nothing about the Mayan civilization or the two explorers, yet I was drawn into the book immediately. It was riveting from the very first chapter. It kept me involved till the las word spoken by this narrator.

Great Topic To Learn About

It’s a fascinating topic and this author covers their history as well as many other facets of their lives. While the first part of the book is rather dense for those of us who don’t specialize in this field, the second half is easier going and addresses the Maya’s achievements, daily life and religion.

I am satisfied

My interest in Maya astrology led me to this book, and it does contain chapters on the Maya philosophy of time as well as their gods and cosmology.

How amazing is to find a book on Mayan history that is great to read and also puts you in the context of the events that happened during the time the ruins were found. I am Guatemalan and I learned so much from the history of my country. I liked the information of the places, it makes you feel you are there. Very well documented!
