She's had a crush on him for decades. He's finally in a place where he feels ready to date the boss's daughter. Can Cord and Jane take their relationship to the next level without getting burned?

Jane Hammond has grown and matured a lot over the years. So much so that she's now working in the accounting department at the massive family company in downtown Denver. But she's living on her family's farm, which her older brother now owns. Her father lives in the generational house, and he still has his eye on Jane's wild streak.

That, and that alone, has kept her from pursuing Cord Behr, the cowboy who's worked her daddy's farm for fifteen years.

Cord has secrets no one knows but Jane's father. The man took him in when he shouldn't have, and he's loved Cord as a son, guided him, and taught him. Cord won't do anything to upset Gray Hammond - but his feelings for the man's daughter have been growing and growing since her return to the farm.

And she's an adult now...

So when her cousin gets married, Cord makes his move and asks Jane to dance. The spark is hotter than ever now that it's been uncovered, but they have a long way to go to build happily-ever-after. Can she make her father see she's not fourteen years old anymore? And will it even matter if Cord can't tell her the truth about his past?

This is the first book I listened to that was read with virtual voice. Hated the virtual voice!

I really like this book series.

I couldn't wait to listen/read Jane's and Cord's story since Jane was 14, and it didn't disappoint!
The AI voice was okay, better than others. But please, someone introduce to the AI that when one human is crying and another one says "sh, sh, sh" it doesn't sound like "esaych, esaych, esaych" (8:35 into chapter 9)
Or not to yell "WHAT?" when it reads "he asked softly" LOL

Sweet story

I am very similar to Jane. I’m a tax accountant looking for a change. I love how caring and supportive Cord is especially when work is too much. I love the glimpses into the other family members lives.

I love this couple

Do not like virtual voice. Hard to follow. Pauses at the wrong time. Good story though.

My goodness, I have fallen in love with all the cowboys; this entire group has class and manners any young lady would be proud to be associated with. Cord has committed his life to doing the right thing, working hard and becoming respectful. Cord has turned into a fine upstanding man, and anybody would be proud to have him as their husband. Jane and Cord have loved from afar for too long. Together they’ll reach success. I’ll hate when the series completely ends, I want to keep sneaking a peak at their lives. I marked performance as ‘4’ stars for the sole purpose that the change from Cody Roberts (the narrator for all the previous books in the series) to a virtual narrator was extremely disappointing. Cody’s ‘cowboy’ drawl was very romantic and transported you to the farm. With the virtual narrator there were quite a number of mispronounced words. In spite of the change ‘midstream’ in the series of narrators, I will relisten to all the audiobooks.
