Publisher's summary

Normally, I was more of a cat person. As in, if I had to choose who lives, I'm going to take the cat nine times out of 10. It's not that I particularly like cats, I just don't particularly like most people.

My neighbor wasn't most people. He lived in the apartment across the hall, and he was your typical, buttoned-up, fancy shoes, smells like a Calvin Klein commercial, looks like he actually flosses kind of guy. I mean, seriously? Wasn't flossing just made up by dentists so they could go on their little power trips once every six months?

The point was, this guy very obviously had his life all put together. He was Mr. Perfect, and If you asked me, he needed to be brought down a few pegs to wallow with the rest of us.

Cue his long, thick, package penetrating my tight little mailbox.

I accidentally dropped a knife on the package a few times back in my apartment. It basically sprang open on its own, and I had no choice but to look inside. His dirty little secret was staring me right in the face. As it turned out, Mr. Perfect wasn't so perfect. Who knew?

Hint: I knew. And I was absolutely going to enjoy every second of what was coming.

Contains mature themes.

An Unlikely Pair

A rich man hiding from his step sister and a woman who purposefully keeps her emotional distance from others. An unlikely pair who fall for each other.
Funny and unusual secondary characters, great dialogue.
A funny unique story that has never a dull moment!

Quick and hilarious

I laughed through the book- very low drama and fast paced. Lilleth is hysterical- I felt like I was listening to myself so it’s my kind of humor. Bloom and Cendese are great together. Good feels book!

Too much sarcasm

I love a good laugh and I did laugh a lot, but the almost continuous sarcasm was a bit much even for me. The narrators did a good job with the characters. On the fence about listening to the rest of the series.

OMG so many laughs!!!

Such a fun rom com! There’s romance and steamy bits too!

The story itself is a bit disjointed in places, but overall it’s hilarious!

The narrators, of course, rock! You can’t go wrong with CJ Bloom and Alexander Cendese!

One that I wasn't sure about at the beginning but found it one of the best of the series.

It's incredible that within a series of books, there can be a vast difference in the way each book is written, from the plot to the characters. I had read the first 3 books as ebooks when they first came out, Listening to them gives each character a fuller personality because they are being given a voice with inflections that bring them to life. Unfortunately, sometimes the voice doesn't always mert your expectations as to what that character should sound like meaning you can be turned off of that character because, as in this case, William sounded like a surfer from California instead of a successful businessman. Yet, when he was introduced, he sounded closer to who hecwas, a slightly not quite there man who knows his job and does ut well. In Liam and Lilith's cases, their voices matched how I can see them down to the unflection. These are 2 people whose relationship starts with each of them receiving the other's package. The conversations are quick and smart and you can tell that the ayluthor liked these characters a great deal because like Bruce and Ava, and Willliam and Emily, why do I feel that after reading Liam's and Lilith's story that Ryan's and Emily's story was harder to get through? The rapport between Liam and Lilith is instantaneous. Each needs the other without knowing it. Their interactions speak words about how they were in the right place at thevy were in the right place at the right time and found each other.
