Publisher's summary

Drew Beaumont is bored of the same old roles: action hero, supervillain, romantic lead. He’s not going to let a fresh gay buddy comedy languish just because they can’t find him the right costar. No, Drew bats his eyelashes and convinces everyone that the movie’s writer should play Drew’s not-so-straight man.

Aspiring writer Steve Sopol has never had a screenplay optioned. Now, one of Hollywood’s hottest properties wants to be in a movie Steve hasn’t finished writing - and he wants Steve as his costar. Turns out the chemistry between them is undeniable - on and offscreen.

Drew swore off dating in the biz, but Steve is the whole package: sharp, funny, humble, and cute. For Steve, though, giving in to the movie magic means the end of the privacy he cherishes.

Will the credits roll before their ride into the sunset?

His Leading Man

Thank you for the ACX Audio, I voluntarily give this book an honest review.
Drew the star that Steve wants for his lead character, making him thrilled but also nervous as his has even finished the script. Is Drew ready to be in the spotlight? Because as things progress on and off set, things are headed that way. Drew wasn't looking for any romances in the Hollywood groups, only that didn't mean was expecting Steve. As the chemistry heats up between them was after the charts on and off screen, will it just be a blip in a stars radar.  To a great and wonderful Narrator Kenneth Obi, as he will be missed in the Audio world that he brought readers like myself to lovely new place with just his character telling.

Good story. Good narration.

A writer and a movie star meet on the set of an indie film, and attraction is sparked.

This is a sweet low angst romance about trying to build lasting relationships when you live in the public eye. The result is a relaxing read/listen with some sweet moments.

Thoroughly enjoyable romance

His Leading Man is a thoroughly enjoyable romance. It’s just so sweet, adorable, cute, fluffy, low angst, and easy to lose yourself in.

Told in a dual POV this had a lot of opportunities to devolve into cliche, but it didn’t. Kane keeps the writing tight and the characters are well fleshed out and I spent the entire time rooting for them.

All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the HEA ending, and Kenneth Obi’s narration was really well done with easily discernible character voices, good timing and pacing, and an easy delivery that made this a pleasure to listen to.

It did take me a bit to get into the narration, because I didn’t personally like the character voice for Drew as it seemed too effeminate and breathy for the character, but that’s just a personal preference, and I eventually was able to sit back and just enjoy.

Looking for some fluffy romance with likable characters, low angst, and a very happy ending? Check this out.
