Good, but not for everyone.

I liked the story a lot... but don't go into this thinking of it as a real sci-fi book; on that level it is rather lacking. what this book IS is a kinky BDSM romance with a sci-fi setting: the spaceships and laser guns are just window dressing. But the sexy scenes are hot, and the romance is actually sweet and touching as it unfolds. Also be warned that this book has a lot of noncommercial sex and BDSM in it... if this squicks/triggers you even in make-believe then AVOID.

The narration... I almost didn't buy this one because several reviews were very negative about the narrator, but I changed my mind when I noticed the Performance rating had many more 4 and 5 star ratings than 1s. His reading pace is a bit slow, but that's OK. I though he made the different characters very distinct : even when 4 or 5 uberalpha males with deep voices are all talking I could follow who was who pretty well. His voice acting isn't really unemotional, it's more like 'subtle' or 'understated' instead of melodramatic. The angry characters aren't enraged or berserk, the scared ones aren't hysterically terrified, etc. Overall I liked the reading.

It ends with what is obviously a lead in to the next book, which I will probably get.

Not impressed with the narrator. He sounds kind of bored to be reading the book. Also have tone in my opinion, would be better suited to a horror novel.

Very awkward start

Where to start? The beginning of this book/series had a rough start. I THINK I know what the author was trying to attempt but, it came across as kind of stupid and very awkward. The beginning started with a genetic pairing between a Prince of an Alien Race that saw humans as inferior and a human slave with physic gifts. The Alien race purchased the female, human slave and the relationship starts out as a true Master/Slave relationship. He even keeps her in a cage. Everyone in his community treated the Heroine as a slave, with the exception of the ship’s cook. The Hero takes advice from the ship’s Dr who advises corporal punishment to mold the human into a passive, willing breeder. However, the Heroine actually gets aroused by the spanking and their relationship morphs into an intense BDSM Master/Slave, D/s relationship and they fall in love with each other. However, the most submissive woman, in the world, wouldn’t fall in love with a male that treated her the way the Prince did. To top it off, she saves his life multiple times by preventing him from being somewhere he was supposed to be killed,( her SECRET psychic ability warned her of his danger) but he assumes she is in cahoots with the enemy and banished and beat her. Oh, no worries, she forgives him and finally he decides to treat her like an equal living being. Like I said, I understand what the author was trying but it did not come across, to me, as I think she meant. However, since the book was part of the Romance package and I really liked another Alien book she wrote, I stuck with the book and am going to try one more book before I throw in the towel.

Definitely dark romance

Based on the title I was prepared for the slavery concept and this does exceed my expectation in this area. This is very explicit and since I am a wimp, anything more than light BDSM just ruins the mood for me. Implied rape makes me cringe, graphic sex is putting it mildly for this one. I would have loved to learn more about the aliens and more about her special powers but I guess since her purpose is for his breeding loads of sex has to happen just with all the advance technology they have, they could have figured out a less rough way to go about convincing the slave. I received a free audio copy and am voluntarily reviewing. The narrator did a pretty good job.

Alot of sex, for a little story

I wish they had less sex and more story but in the end I thought it was well written with a good story and good characters.

Story good, Narration Drags

Quick read but terribly slow narration. Typically hot Renee Rose story. Mild suspense. Initially the narrator sounded as if he was reading a dirge. Both the story and the narration picked up towards the end which gives me mild hope for the next installment.

Erotica BDSM Paranormal Romance

I usually enjoy paranormal romance but I think this should be listed under Sci/Fi Erotica. The story is very well written with a lot of details about their steamy encounters. The BDSM is a strong constant part in this story. If you dislike this type of interaction this book might not be for you. Their interactions are described in detail.

Narration was well done and it brought the story to life.

The story is about a very dominant alien prince and his human slave. This story is unique and their relationship develops but he complains constantly about his slaves lies and deceit. There are quite a bit of misunderstandings because they are from a different planets with different customs.

There are no cliffhangers and the story is well paced & does conclude on a positive note.

Zander.. The alien of my dreams

I purchased this audio because I enjoy Renée rose's writing very much. This was no exception. Xander the alien prince needs a mate to repopulate with and ends up with a biological match that is a human. She's not just any human though she's special. As the dynamic of the two different cultures unfolds and the two bond and get closer through not only the domestic discipline but a loving hand, it is clear that they are meant to be. The story was heartfelt and very passionate. Can't wait to listen to the next.

I had my moments where the language was driving me crazy😡😡.. Some
Parts scared me. There were also some that had me lost in my thought's😵😵 but I enjoyed it can't wait to find out what happens next..😘
