A Lovely Story

Would you listen to His Forever Valentine again? Why?

I am an avid re-reader, so I'm certain that I will be a re-listener, as well. This is a sweet story full of mis-communication and misconceptions. Beware of gossips in the town of Nowhere, Washington. They've been known to drive a man to the altar.

What other book might you compare His Forever Valentine to and why?

Like many of Kit Morgan's holiday bride books, the groom is unaware of his pending nuptials. This story has a twist - two couples.

What does Michael Rahhal bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Michael Rahhal is a master of voices. All of the characters, both female and male, have a distinctive voice, accent, and manner of phrasing. If I didn't know that it was a single person reading, I would assume the story was being performed by a small cast.

Any additional comments?

You might be tempted to dislike Matthew Quinn, but give the poor boy a chance. He'll get it together - eventually.

Great quick read

This audible escape was a quick but good listen as I went about my cleaning today. The narration of the sheriff threw me a little through out the story but overall this was a great listen!

The best so far!

I read the 1st 2 books in the series and thought I'd try this one. I liked that it was a little different than the first two. It's funny, sweet and most important Short.

Love Mail Order Bride Stories

I enjoy mail order bride stories. Maybe because when I first learned of them I was fascinated with the concept of going to a new place and marrying someone you never met. I couldn’t decide if it was a grand adventure or the worst thing that could happen. I’ve been obsessed ever since. I enjoy the location of this one. I think it’s the farthest north and west I’ve read of them. I enjoy Kit Morgan’s sense of humor. The story has a love triangle going on. It presented a lot of opportunities to enjoy that sense of humor.
I wasn’t excited about the narration. He wasn’t bad. He just didn’t excite me. Over all it was a fun book for me.

Delightful!

Wowza! These meddling mothers are so funny! Well as long as they are not your's and ordering a mail order bride for you! Matthew had just come back from school in Boston where he had studied to be a doctor. His parents run the mercantile and just as he got there, his mother introduced him to his mail order bride Rose. Rose had come from the same orphanage as Summer and El because she had turned 18 and had to get a job or marry.
What a tangled web! Matthew though had been in love with Charlotte forever.. Yes that Charlotte. But now he had this bride thrust upon him. Blend in the Deputy Sheriff Tom who was from Clear Creek and the fun begins.
With Michael Rahhal and his brilliant voices and the writing of Kit Morgan, it does not get much better than this! Now off to the next one in the series!

I didn't care for the narrator at all.

the narrator's voice was ok for the men, mostly, but his cadence and pauses were all wrong. the women's voices were really bad and the accents were horrendous.

Poor Narrator. All of the young men were made to sound old. Would have been a cute story except for narrator.

Very bad narrator. It would have been a better book if it were told by different narrator.
