Publisher's summary

Isabella Snowley knows full well that her family are on the brink of ruin, which is why she must try to stop her brother from getting himself killed in a silly duel. Tracking down the aloof Earl of Colbourne and asking him to withdraw made perfect sense when she formulated the plan. But standing in a dark street at four o'clock in the morning has quickly shown Bella her foolishness.

Duncan Ash, Earl of Colbourne, is used to having unmarried women throw themselves at his feet in the vain hope that he might marry them, and it has given him a distaste for the ton. So when he stumbles across a young woman out alone in the middle of the night begging for an audience with him, he can only think the worst of her.

A few minutes in the company of Bella Snowley, however, convince him that he has just encountered a creature out of the common way, and that pursuing his acquaintance with her might even justify a foray back into the world of the beau monde.

With everything set against them, Bella and Duncan find out that falling in love can be surprisingly easy with someone who can make you smile. But, sometimes, life can conspire against you. Those with an interest in the fortunes of the Snowley family might have quite a different fate in mind for Bella and make her choose between her own happiness and that of the family she loves so much.

~ Georgette Heyer Like Novella. Strong Heroine

These delightful novellas (series = 9 books) were written by the author for her mother, who had worn out her Georgette Heyer books from multiple readings. This is #3. Only minor mention of characters from #1. No through story. Heroine meets an Earl when attempting to save her impoverished brother from a debt induced duel. Romantic endeavors unfold.

Book #3 in Regency Romp Series Does Not Disappoint

Julia Eve does a fantastic narration to the third book in the Regency Romp Series. Elizabeth Bramwell does a great telling of a headstrong and honorable lady's romance.

She was saved by a man she thought was out to ruin her and her family.

This story had a man as creepy as Weinstein.

Duncan is a man of worth and knows sometimes a young buck only needs a lesson to see the error of his ways. Duncan meets Belle at time she was scared for her family. She stands up to him and saves the day.
This is a sweet story though the creepy old man gives it crawling on the skin feel. But author brings light to the story to keep it from going too dark.
The narration is good as always with Julia Eve.

A romance with a gambling twist...:)

It's the third book in the series (though each one is, luckily, a stand-alone:)) and this time Ms Bramwell adds a bit of "darkness" into the story... But as it's a sweet romance we know right from the start that there is going to be a happily ever after so we do not fret and eagerly await the solution to all the meddlings of the malicious "gentleman" that threaten the happiness of Isabella and her Earl:)

As in the previous two books, the plot is swift and fast-paced, the characters lively, most of them likeable, and they feel real, with their strengths and weaknesses, with deeds of courage as well as unwise decisions made on the spur of the moment. There is gentle humour in the story and there are also moments when emotions run high... It's a definitely engaging listen:)

As with the previous two books, I'd like Ms Eve to read a bit faster; but overall the narration is really good. The voices are very well done, both male and female, and the emotions ring true, so overall I liked it.

Short and sweet historical romance

Short and sweet historical romance. I liked this book because the hero didn't deny his feelings and that always annoys me. The heroine was pretty funny.. actually the whole book was pretty funny. So if you are in the mood for a humorous and sweet HR, I highly recommend this book.

His Darling Belle - Book 3; a delightful story

When Isabella Snowley tracks down the Earl of Colbourne (a sworn bachelor) in then middle of night to stop him from engaging in a duel with her brother after the brother drunkenly insults the Earl during a card game. The Earl refuses to be persuaded, but eventually decides to teach the young pup a lesson by merely shooting him the shoulder rather than mortally wounding him. Soon thereafter the Earl realizes that Bella is a unique, one-of-kind gem, and he’d be a fool to let her go.

A delightful story of Duncan trying to "catch" Bella with a dastardly villain with a like mind.

Headstrong

Bella is headstrong and dedicated to her family and being impulsive puts her in a precarious position with an earl names Ash as she tries to fix her brothers bad decisions. Ash thinks she is trying to catch his attention for marriage. He finds out different and is totally taken by her. But her brothers friend who he is indebted to has notorious plans for his sister and Bella will need Ash to save her. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

A Duel, an Evil Suitor, and Two Sweet Romances

First of all, I gleefully admit that Elizabeth Bramwell is a must read for me. His Darling Belle is the third book in her delightful Regency Romp Series. The Snowley family is on the brink of financial disaster. Their recently deceased father has left their affairs in a terrible way, and son and heir, Christopher Snowley has worsened their situation by gambling, and accusing the Earl of Colborne of cheating of cards. Christopher’s sister, Bella, contrives to meet the Earl of Colborne to try to convince him to not doing a duel with her brother, and this lovely story ensues.

This is such a fun regency romance; it is a real page turner! This charming story includes TWO sweet romances, gambling, a duel, and an evil suitor. Bella Snowley takes it upon herself to save her family, even at the peril of her happiness. There is no cause for despair as two gentlemen of the ton take it upon themselves to protect and love the women of the Snowley family.

One of my favorite lines is “It’s not good ton to let rakes masquerading as gentleman try to kiss you, best to shoot them!” Well, there are so many other great lines.

I have read the book, and I was given a complimentary audiobook by the author. The thoughts and impressions of the book and the audio book are my own. Julia Eve is a delightful narrator and is successful in her portrayal of all the charming characters in this book.

Very Enjoyable

I received this book for free. I am voluntarily posting this review and any opinion expressed herein is my own.

This is the third book in the Regency Romps series. Each book is completely standalone and could be read in any order. All are worth your time.

I enjoyed how this delightful tale began with Bella, our MC, meeting alone and in the middle of the night with the Earl of Colbourne to talk him out of dueling with her brother over a gambling debt. Bella is strong-willed and very likeable. She has her family's interests at heart - first and foremost. As a bit of a twist, there is a sinister character who does not like Belle's strong will and wants to tame her. In addition, there is a second romance in the Snowley family, which was very fun.

The narrator, Julia Eve, is the same for all the books in this series. She has a very light but proper British accent and is pleasant on the ears.
