These delightful novellas (series = 9 books) were written by the author for her mother, who had worn out her Georgette Heyer books from multiple readings. This is #3. Only minor mention of characters from #1. No through story. Heroine meets an Earl when attempting to save her impoverished brother from a debt induced duel. Romantic endeavors unfold.

Book #3 in Regency Romp Series Does Not Disappoint

Julia Eve does a fantastic narration to the third book in the Regency Romp Series. Elizabeth Bramwell does a great telling of a headstrong and honorable lady's romance.

She was saved by a man she thought was out to ruin her and her family.

This story had a man as creepy as Weinstein.

Duncan is a man of worth and knows sometimes a young buck only needs a lesson to see the error of his ways. Duncan meets Belle at time she was scared for her family. She stands up to him and saves the day.
This is a sweet story though the creepy old man gives it crawling on the skin feel. But author brings light to the story to keep it from going too dark.
The narration is good as always with Julia Eve.

A romance with a gambling twist...:)

It's the third book in the series (though each one is, luckily, a stand-alone:)) and this time Ms Bramwell adds a bit of "darkness" into the story... But as it's a sweet romance we know right from the start that there is going to be a happily ever after so we do not fret and eagerly await the solution to all the meddlings of the malicious "gentleman" that threaten the happiness of Isabella and her Earl:)

As in the previous two books, the plot is swift and fast-paced, the characters lively, most of them likeable, and they feel real, with their strengths and weaknesses, with deeds of courage as well as unwise decisions made on the spur of the moment. There is gentle humour in the story and there are also moments when emotions run high... It's a definitely engaging listen:)

As with the previous two books, I'd like Ms Eve to read a bit faster; but overall the narration is really good. The voices are very well done, both male and female, and the emotions ring true, so overall I liked it.

Short and sweet historical romance

Short and sweet historical romance. I liked this book because the hero didn't deny his feelings and that always annoys me. The heroine was pretty funny.. actually the whole book was pretty funny. So if you are in the mood for a humorous and sweet HR, I highly recommend this book.

When Isabella Snowley tracks down the Earl of Colbourne (a sworn bachelor) in then middle of night to stop him from engaging in a duel with her brother after the brother drunkenly insults the Earl during a card game. The Earl refuses to be persuaded, but eventually decides to teach the young pup a lesson by merely shooting him the shoulder rather than mortally wounding him. Soon thereafter the Earl realizes that Bella is a unique, one-of-kind gem, and he’d be a fool to let her go.

A delightful story of Duncan trying to "catch" Bella with a dastardly villain with a like mind.

Headstrong

Bella is headstrong and dedicated to her family and being impulsive puts her in a precarious position with an earl names Ash as she tries to fix her brothers bad decisions. Ash thinks she is trying to catch his attention for marriage. He finds out different and is totally taken by her. But her brothers friend who he is indebted to has notorious plans for his sister and Bella will need Ash to save her. I received a complimentary audio and this review is voluntary.

Fun book

I enjoyed this one just like the rest in the series. The narrator did a great job reading and the story had a happy ending. Fairly clean it had a few small cuss words but nothing horrible.

Best book in the Regency Romp Series so far!

His Darling Belle is an engaging sweet historical romance that includes a handsome Earl, a loving resourceful heroine, and dastardly villain. Although it is the third book in the Regency Romps series by Elizabeth Bramwell, it is nearly twice as long as the first book in the series, The Dashing Widow, with great results. I really enjoy stories with more substance and this one satisfies.

As in the previous two books in the series, the plot is swift and fast-paced, and the characters very likable (except for the dastardly villain). For example, at first I thought Bella's brother was a careless fop, but by the end of the story all made sense (the dastardly villain plays a significant part in the brothers almost downfall). There is also a touching side-story involving Bella’s widowed mother and the “one that got away” from her youth, who plays a significant role in helping the brother recover from his "friendship" with the dastardly villain. [I just love it when stories include a "bonus" romance!]

Julia Eve narrated this wonderful story with aplomb. She really bought the characters to life, using a variety of distinct voices. I can’t wait to listen to the next book in The Regency Romps Series!

Truly the best one yet.

There is nothing worse than watching your family lose everything they have, but even worse as you watch the darling Isabella’s brother being taken in and return for his foolishness lose his home, sister and everything in between. Isabella will do what needs to be done to save her family but so will two other men. This is a heart felt touching story of watching a family being torn apart and the men who love them taking control in only the way a man can. It is a story of the power of love and what you are willing to do to keep it. I so fell in love with these characters, their humor, how they stand up taking life by the horn and giving it a swing. The author shows what true passion means, how love can build a bridge and how we take care of those we love at all cost. It is heartbreaking, touching, full of smiles, laughs and even a few tears. I have fallin in love with this authors work.


The narrator did an outstanding job from her true emotions to her character voices. I always knew who was talking and how they were feeling, it really showed in her voice. Her different character voices were wonderful, she really bought the story to life. There were no volume changes, no background noise just a wonderfully delightful and very enjoyable audio that I got lost in. Her character voice were powerful, her tones right on the money. I had not listen to any of her work before but I look forward to listening to more of it.

I thought the author did a great job pulling the listener in, giving a delightful story that took you way not wanting it to end. Her characters show strength, power, passion and have become to feel like part of my family. The women stand up for their selves not backing down but also showing true passion. Her men are hard but kind, true gentleman. The romance is sweet, daring, filled with fun, thrilling, a little danger and so much passion. I truly enjoyed this from start to finish. I can’t wait to start the other ones in this series. I totally enjoyed this authors writing very much, it is one that I will listen to again.
