Publisher's summary

She was supposed to be dead.

When a chance invitation to a magical ball revives Lina’s spirit, but none of her memories, she’s left with more questions than answers. Lucky for her, she was also left with someone determined to help her uncover them.

With her Guardian, Nord, at her side Lina begins her search, but neither of them expected that the dangers of her past would resurface and threaten her future. A future she finds herself hoping will include the Viking-like man who makes her heart race.

As the details of Lina’s curse are finally revealed, will she and her Guardian be able to overcome the truth? Or will the secrets of their past destroy any chance they might have had at finding their happily ever after?

Spellbinding, sexy, and suspenseful, Hint of Danger is the first book in a new paranormal romance trilogy following a chance meeting at The Monster Ball. It's perfect for fans of overprotective alphas, smoldering sexual tension, and loads of banter. Thankfully, the ball was just the beginning for these two fated lovers.

Recommended for ages 18+ due to adult language, content, and scenes with graphic violence.

Exciting adventure in magic & romance!

This story has a unique take on the existence of a ghost, what their world might be like, and how might you bring them back. I didn't feel the need to suspend disbelief in order to get lost in the story, which is always a plus with paranormal romance. In this world of magical beings with amazing powers we are introduced to Lina and Nord, who are fated to find each other. From the very beginning I was invested in Lina's character, how she sees the world, and her struggle to recover lost memories while embracing her new life and falling for her unbelievably sexy protector. I got lost in the mystery and the suspense while being swept away by the undeniable attraction, romance, and beautiful connection they share. His pet name for her is beautiful and his protective nature and devotion are hot as hell! This is a cliffy, so hold on tight and be prepared! You will definitely want the rest of the story ASAP, like me!

Shane East and Stella Hunter work brilliantly together in duet. All of the emotion, the longing, the rage, and the intense attraction these character experience is brought to life by 2 of my favorite narrators! They bring the characters to life in a way you really cannot get outside of Duet narration that is done right!

I received an #AdvancedListenerCopy of this book in exchange for my honest review. There will be 2 more books in this series, and I cannot wait for the rest of this story!!

Snark, Steam, & Suspense read in TANTALIZING DUET!

Magic, steamy, swoony romance, and a SHADE OF DANGER... The premise of Shade of Danger, the prequel novella included first, was fascinating! Imagine being a ghost, without any senses other than sight, not allowed to communicate/touch/taste, for unknown decades. Suddenly, you're in a corporal body wanting to experience ALL aspects of  life you've only been able to watch. This is the main character, Lina.
She is mysteriously invited, then transported, fully clothed in a corporal body to an annual Monster Ball. Once figuring this out, she is REARING to go experience everything she can... because what if it's only this one night she's granted? Lina wants to eat, drink, flirt, & be merry! Meeting the Viking-like Nord ups the ante, and she's ready to also test out her new body in different ways! Nord and Lina have an instantaneous explosive connection that is STEAMY, but not only is he absolutely enamored with Lina, Nord is somewhat gentlemanly, and has his own mind-altering revelation. Loved this & was instantly NEEEDING to read/listen to HINT OF DANGER!  Nothing more exciting than having it included in the same package!

HINT OF DANGER picks up the morning after the Monster Ball, and finds Lina at Nord's home, where he has offered her a place to stay, clothes, and assistance in discovering who she was before becoming a ghost, She alternates from being a naïve innocent learning what tastes she likes, like bacon, to types of clothing, then switching to a sex-starved vixen, wanting to tear off Nord's clothes. Nord has a noble reason for staying platonic, though it's not really what he truly wants, and the hilarity of her teasing him, and his fending her off with warnings are steamy & swoon-worthy!
Lina does not start off as a kick@$$ heroine, and has a lot to learn not only about her magic, but about how to defend herself physically. The search for Lina's true identity brings in serious danger, and the not knowing kept me on the edge of my seat! The supporting characters are fantastic, and I would love to read more about suave & sexy Finley & the enigmatic Quinn in future books! This one is a great listen, but BEWARE: IT DOES LEAVE YOU HANGING, WANTING MORE!

Viking guardians, what more could you ask for?

Meg Anne is a new to me author so I went in with an open mind. While I liked the book, the writing technique isn’t my favorite. That being said, I’m still invested in how this story ends so I’ll most likely pick up the next in the series.

The narrators did an amazing job on the dual POV! This is what I hoped for when I saw that it was done in dual narration. It was like an actual conversation between characters and I enjoyed this so much better the usual.

Sassy, fast-paced and fun

This is my first Meg Anne book, and it definitely won't be my last. Hint of Danger is the first in the Undercover Magic series, and it is the beginning of Lina and Nord's story.

What do you get in Hint of Danger? Lina is a sassy spitfire of a female lead. She's died, she's lost her memories, and for a while, she was a spirit with no corporeal form. She suddenly gets her form back and that's when her journey begins with Nord. The twists and turns, the action, the high adventure - it's all there in spades. But one constant that keeps the book going is the humor, too! Lina is fierce, determined, and not afraid to say what's on her mind. Nord is protective, grumbly, and determined to keep Lina safe. They're instantly drawn to each other, and the push and pull between the two of them keeps you coming back for more.

Stella Hunter as Lina, and Shane East as Nord, delivered great performances. Stella was full of grit, sass, humor and determination. Shane was growly, grouchy, protective and out of his depth with Lina.

Can't wait to hear the next one!

Fun listen!

The narrators Shane East and Stella Hunter did a phenomenal job portraying the characters, Lina and Nord. I loved hearing from both of their POVs and seeing how they felt about each other. If you’re looking for a new book boyfriend you will find him in Nord. I enjoyed the mystery surrounding Lina and the magical elements as well. Looking forward to listening to the next installment.
