Publisher's summary

She's innocent, inexperienced, virginal, and completely out of place. Now it's my personal mission to change all of that.

Sure, I'm also on this tour to play drums. A bit of blackmail got me the gig and out from under my parents' control. All I've ever wanted to is to live the rock star life, so I'm willing to do whatever it takes. Doesn't matter who gets hurt, as long as I get mine.

At least that's how it started.

This girl, she's gotten under my skin. Makes me want to be a better man. Has me dreaming of more than a life on the road. For a future of my own, as long as it includes her.

Only, I'm not sure how to make that happen. I can't tell her the truth, not when it won't set us free.

The books in the Off Track Records series are interconnected stand-alone romance novels, and can be listened to in any order.

Detour: Trent and Lexi's Story

Derail: Sean and Jess's Story

Hinder: Leighton and Opal's Story

Another Smash Hit! Easily with the credit!

Another smash hit for this series! This one incorporates some characters we have met in the past and given them a front standing role. While I am not a huge fan of virgin stories the author does a good job portraying her as such. The girl is a wonderful add to the story. I was hesitant because she didn’t seem to be a girl that could handle the rockstar life upon our first meeting. But she shined. I really loved the male lead. His life is golden except he doesn’t think of it that way. He has emotional family issues. He is so talented that I can’t even imagine having all that ability! Watching him fit in and try to be the good guy was interesting.

Of course we get to hand out with the 3UG guys! More concerts and all the stress that goes along with it. I just can’t get over the whole eating contest just to get the room on the bus. Makes me laugh every time it comes up.

I did listen to this on audio. Savannah Peachwood and Jason Clarke. Savannah does a wonderful job and she is a joy to listen to. Jason really just blows this out of the water. He has been the male characters from the beginning. He has a different voice for each male character and he nails it from book to book. Amazing! Worth a listen!

More than 5 Stars!

Another fantastic book in the Off Track Records Series! Opal and Leighton are strong characters from two different backgrounds and their story couldn’t be sweeter! I enjoyed them both so much! I didn’t want this book to end! Just like the first two in this series (Detour and Derail) I always just want to stay in the 3UG world for as long as possible. I was on the edge waiting to see how everything played out and I was not disappointed! Kacey Shea, thank you for another beautiful story! I’m excited to see what’s next!

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood. Both are a perfect fit these two characters and really captured Opal and Leighton’s personalities beautifully.

The Good Drummer Boy

Opal is the sweet innocent country girl. When she comes to live with Lexi and band she has to learn quick how living on the road can be. Meet the new drummer Leighton he is young and got the good boy look. But a bad boy he can be. Secrets and lies is never a good way to start a relationship.
I loved the friends to lovers plot to this book with plenty of laughter, secrets and family love to keep you wanting to know more. I love all the characters and they make this series awesome. Can’t wait for Austin’s book.
Savannah Peachwood and Jason Clarke do a wonderful job bringing this story to life. They really brought this book to life. A must read Series.

Unexpected surprise!

I have to admit I wasn’t sure I’d love this book as much as the others since it wasn’t Austin’s story. Boy was I wrong! I absolutely fell in love with Opal and Leighton. Opal is such a great heroine. She may be young but I loved how loyal and caring she was. As for Leighton well... you’ll love him and you’ll hate him. A few times I wanted to smack him and tell him to step up to Vito. There’s a perfect blend of steam and sweetness throughout. The great relationship between 3UG continues to shine in this book. I can’t wait to listen to Austin’s story. If you like rockstar romances you’ll enjoy this series. Even though all books are about different couples I’d recommend starting at the beginning!

Overall this was a 4.75 star listen. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Narration was amazing! 5 ++++ STARS
The flow was great and each character had their own unique voice.

Hinder

I loved Opal and Leightons’s story, my favorite Off Track Records book so far. Can easily be read/listened to as a stand-alone, but it will leave you wanting to read/listen to Detour and Derail if you haven’t already! Three Ugly Guys aren’t your typical rock band - these guys have heart! Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood are terrific. Both narrators had distinct voices for their characters and easily and seamlessly switched when giving voice to other characters in the story. They are two of my favorite narrators and it was fun to have them paired as Opal and Leighton.

LOVE

I can't get enough of these rockstars and the phenomenal narrators bringing them to life. Once again Jason Clarke knocks it out of the park with these male protagonists. Kacey Shea has got a great group of characters in this series and every time the next book comes out it feels like the first time I am getting to read them again. I love the Opal and Leighton addition to the series. Opal intrigued me from her very first mention in Detour and I was hoping she was get her own book and more than happy to have a hero like Leighton join Three Ugly Guys to round out the band. This series is addicting and I can hardly wait for the next installment. Austin has always been a favorite of mine!

A Beautiful Romance!

This book hits you with an potent emotional cocktail that will have your head spinning and have your heart melting. A beautiful romance about two very different people, their unexpected attraction and feelings for each other. There is drama, angst, pain, secrets, heartache, lust, passion and love. Opal and Leighton's story will touch your heart and linger in your mind and for me that is what the very best books do. A truly amazing read! Dual narration on this book is basically the icing on the cake! The narrator's give an impeccable performance that I felt perfectly matched the characters and the story being told. Simply excellent!!

Leighton and Opal are two cutie patooties!

I’m not always a fan of virgin plot-lines but Opal is Lexie’s 18yr old half-sister so we’re all very protective of her (stay away, Austin! 🤣). The narration was superb- Jason Clarke is always on point and Savannah Peachwood did a great job with Opal’s country twang. Two thumbs up!! 👍 👍

A great listen

I wasn’t sure I was prepared for the next book in this series after listening to Derail, but thankfully, this one was easier on my emotions.

This is the third book in the off track records series and another wonderful instalment. We get to spend time with our favourite band back on tour.

Leighton is a musical prodigy that blackmails his way into the band, but then the tables are turned. I got a little frustrated with him at times but then had to remind myself of his age, which I think was harder due to the narration. See below for more about that.
Opal is a sweet, southern girl who we met in Detour, she’s Lex’s half sister and joins the band on tour as their PA. She is thrust into this world that she doesn’t really understand and is hit with a lot.

I love Leighton and Opal together, I thought they were really suited and loved their interactions. I liked that it had a love triangle feel to it at the beginning but once Opal knew, she knew. Although the conflict could have been avoided it made sense for their ages, and I liked that it wasn’t a quick fix, it took time and for them to really look into themselves and how they felt.

The way the band really looked out for Opal was so heartwarming and enamoured them to me again after my upset in the last book...I’m not saying I hold a grunge, but...you know, they needed to earn their swooning spots back.

The overuse of uncle and sister was a little distracting as it felt like a constant reminder of who the person was to them as opposed to just using their name. But it was something little that didn’t change my enjoyment of the story.

I love Jason Clarke, and I think the way this series has been cast with him narrating the entire band with different female narrators has been fantastic. But. Yes, I know, there is a but. Leighton is 18 years old, and Jason does not sound like an 18 year old. So it was a little tough it get lost in the story like the previous two. That being said, Jason was fabulous and his performance was filled with his usual skill and emotion. Savannah Peachwood was fantastic as Opal, it’s been quite some time since I last listened to a Savannah performance so it was great to have her in my years again. Her southern accent was pure perfection and her ability to perform the young and sweet Opal was spot on. Their voices complemented each other well, the transition from one to the other and the genders was smooth with just a slight difference in the depth of the southern accent. No production issues of note.

loved it !

absolutely loved this audiobook, this book follows Opal ,a sassy girl who i feel we can all relate to, she just wants to live her life and have fun doing so and then she meets Leighton new drummer to 3 ugly guys , i loved how their story and feelings progressed despite everything thrown at Leighton to 'hinder' his chances, the narrators were perfect aswell but then you cant go wrong with Jason Clarke and savannah peachwood , they're amazing and really bring the story alive , one of my favourite audiobooks this year

Another beautifully written story!

Another beautifully written story in this fantastic series! Leighton and Opal come from different backgrounds and, despite their age, managed to make their relationship work. This isn't as steamy as the two previous books, but the storyline is so amazing that I don't find it lacking.

We also get to see how the characters in the previous books are doing. I just love seeing the camaraderie between the band members!

Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood were the perfect fit for Leighton and Opal. I recognized the characters based on the voices Jason Clarke gave them in the previous books!

Hinder is a slow burn, contemporary rock star romance written in dual first-person POV and narrated dual- style. It's a standalone that ends with a HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.

I actually had to switch off and walk away...

...Sort of like that episode of Friends where Rachel explains to Joey that she puts books in the freezer when they get to a sad part... This was kinda like me, but I was angry! For a book to evoke this sort of reaction shows writing talent!

... I did get straight back to listening after a good coffee and grumble about the goings on in my fictional world!

What a fab third installment to this series. Perfectly created story and characters as always.

Do I even need to say how brilliant the narration was!?

... It was... But I know I didn't need to say that bit!

This love story will not hinder your heart

Book 3 in Kacey Shae rock and roll series . This story will have lots of mystery, attraction between the hero and heroine. You will see the 3UG pull together . Leighton doesn’t want to go into classical music like his mother wants . Leighton comes a family that has it all , money , connections and Leighton finds a way to make his own way . He corners Vito his uncle to get him into the 3UG band as the drummer . Once Leighton sets his eye on Opal he looses his mind . Vito has something up his sleeve concerting the band and he tells Leighton if he wants to keep his place in the band he needs to find out why Opal is touring with the 3UG .
Vito sells Leighton out but the band all .

Jason Clark and Savanna Peachwood performance is fantastic. They brought this story to life .

young love

this book is the least of them all that I liked and i think it's because the 2 main characters were too young.
I was frustrated no end with this story and I just about gave up on Leighton. he had the answer to his dilemma the whole time and never used it. I was also disappointed with the end it got a bit mushy and way too sweet for my liking.
really wanted to read Austin's story but just don't know now.
I've enjoyed the series so far and it seems a shame not to finish but I'm not happy with some of the loose ends Ms Shea leaves me with. again, some of the characters are portrayed in a lesser light and there seems to be a gullibility that has no place in a rock band setting. least of all 3UG's
which are built up nicely with book 1 and 2.
wasn't much to this story but the little twist kept it moving.
I'm guessing the dilemma revealed here will carry to book 4....
Jason narrated well as always and savannah read opals story with that soft touch of innocence that was needed.
if you like young innocent love and a step back from rock band stuff, this is for you. me I could have done without it
