Publisher's Summary

Gavin Mac Brodie fears the thought of becoming the man his father was. Driven into solitude by visions of what he would not be and could not have, he vows never to wed. But this last of the available Brodie men is about to encounter a wee bit of Highland magic...

Catrìona is no stranger to - solitude. Driven deep into the Highland mountains, her kinsmen have become little more than legend. But no one knows better than Cat that you cannot hide from fate. Naked and painted in the woad of her ancestors, she appears to Gavin Mac Brodie ...

But is she flesh and blood - a chance for a future - or just a faerie creature who will vanish if Gavin dares to open his heart?

This original novella is book 5 of the Highland Brides series.

Very Enjoyable

Loved the book, but it was too short. It was time for Gavin to have a relationship. Catriona was an interesting character and I wish there was more about her and her family.

Highland Song

5 Star review for both the writing as well as the narration. You are transported to a time of mysticism and magic. Excellent research combined with excellent narration makes for a perfect audiobook diversion. 😀

Odd, underdeveloped, with awful reader

The female protagonist lacks depth and is difficult to like -- the author did not give much of a backstory to explain her character, magic or skills. And what's with all the cats? Weird, and not in the amusing way. The first thing I noticed, however, was the dreadful narration. It was much too slow, and got even slower whenever the narrator switched to a Scottish accent for dialogue between characters. I changed the speed to 1.25 (first time ever), and it began to sound a little more normal, but not completely. Give this one a miss.
