Falls flat

This book seemed rushed in the writing of it. It fell flat in comparison to the previous books. It made me wonder if anyone edited it. The repetition is irritating. If I had to hear "Ewald's Gift" one more time!! The ending was extremely weak.

Not amazing at all.

This is a decent story line but I’m not sure if it was the lady reading it or the grammar layout that was painful to listen too.

A Stunning Conclusion!

A stunning conclusion to this series! The last installment was phenomenal. Gruoch is faced with many more challenges but they are on her terms. Emotional at times, the story was fast paced and fantastic helped by the lovely voice of Lesley Parkin. It’s so hard to say goodbye. I have grown very fond of these characters. I loved the ending. Farewell my friends. Till next listen. I give this 5 stars.

Heart Rending Great Read!

This last in the series was hard for me to finish. I did not want it to end. Through the story I have come to love and hate some of the characters. Some I wanted to just see go on and on. It haunts me the story it was so beautiful and a great end.
The narrator Lesley Parkin did one fantastic job on bring everyone to life and bringing you in to the story making you feel like a part of it.

Completely immersive wonderfully written.

As one of the last books in the Highland series this book is as strong and powerfully written as the first. The detail that comes from the historical investigation of the true story of Lady Macbeth interwoven with the story telling that carries you through a powerful depiction. The old religion is respectfully mentioned and the harrowing details of beliefs and realities of lie and death at the time work Into a powerful tapestry of a story.
