wow... now I know what Julia Roberts felt in pretty woman at the end of that play... so good I almost peed my pants

I'm heartbroken and uplifted at the same time. I almost gave up on this book several times because there is a lot going on. I'll admit the beginning I wasn't posting too close attention to the story but once I started over, it all started to make sense. this of not a typical love story. this story is still moreso in the past, the present and the future as Lares is speaking to a young woman and telling her a story about his life, her grandparents and her parents. as the story moves along we learn exactly who each character is and what they mean to the story. there's not much romance in the normal sense of the word but as far as historical novels go, it's right on the money. I listened to the audiobook and honestly I would have to say that it would sound better with multiple narrators but otherwise I did end up really enjoying the book. it is really long so if you plan to read it then tuck in and prepare for a long ride and grab some tissues.

What a beautiful happy/sad story about love through generations. Somehow even with tragedy it is a feel good ending.

Kathryn can always be counted on to pen a fantastic plot. This definitely deserves praise and Brad Wills is a master at narrating her delightful stories. I can’t wait to get the next book from these guys. When I see them finished one, I go immediately to get it!

So Enjoyable!

KLV is one of my favorite authors and this book did not disappoint. Although it was not action packed or the usual type of characters I look for in her books, nonetheless, I loved this book because of the depth of feeling. I do not like to give spoilers, but this book gets emotional.

Brad Wills of course is sensational and he can bring life to any book and I believe you will enjoy this one.

A Bonny Tale

I really enjoyed this sweet story. It had many layers to it, which held my interest. The narrator was terrific with the male voices, but a bit cringe with female voices! I’m looking forward to the next in this series!

Think I've heard this one before

I believe I've heard this one from a different point of view and just can't put my finger on it. It seems I knew everything that was about to happen and now I have to go back through all my books to find the other view of this story. It's good but not outstanding because I didn't get the level of angst I wanted. It shows how love surpasses time and moves throughout generations. The performance was wonderful as always.
