Publisher's summary

Decades of secrets stand between them. Can their doomed love be saved?

David Drummond could not be more satisfied with life. He’s betrothed to the woman he loves, heir to his mother’s lairdship, and his family is both loving and supportive. But a strange attack on his betrothed shakes the foundation of everything he holds dear. Though Anna cannot remember what happened to her, evidence indicates she may have been raped, and her sire immediately cancels the betrothal. Though David is still desperate to marry Anna, he is informed she has been betrothed to another.

Anna awoke to a nightmare after the incident in the woods. Though she has barely any memory of what happened, her entire life has been upended. Her sire, who used to dote on her, refuses to let her speak to her betrothed and orders her to settle for a man she could never love. Desperate to be with David, she will do anything she can to escape her family.

David calls upon his cousins to help rescue his love, but will they be able to intervene before it’s too late?

Great story of a future Laird

Lovely story of Anna and David and the obstacles they had to face to get together ending with a wedding ceremony worthy of the future Drummond Laird. It was nice to see Daniel move away from not being noticed to recognition as a great warrior. Loved it

The road to love can be rough

This is the second book of a series by Keira Montclair, about members of a family.About band of cousins who are very close, David Drummond,is a member of this family members, and He is in love with Anna MacGruder, and at first her father agreed to them getting married. Then her father has Anna drugged and taken in the woods, and possibly was raped, because of blood on her clothes. Anna woke in woods confused and didn't know what happened to her, I felt Anna was a shy, mild person, but as story continued, she developed into a strong women. David is just as dedicated to overcome all the problems and lies Anna father tells him about Anna.Anna's doesn't have any family support as her mother is abused by her father. She has two brothers, one is cruel and one is scared to help her. This is really a excellent story, I enjoyed listening to it,the narrator has a very good voice for telling stories.A lot of excitement in this story, how it all unfolds, and how it ends, how the family members all stick together and help David get Anna back.I would recommend anyone who enjoys Scottish Highlanders books to get this audio book.
