Publisher's Summary

A scared, lonely past and a dangerous secret follow Dr. Aiden Sharp to the peaceful town of Lake Cliff, Illinois, when he arrives to testify in a murder trial for the district attorney.

Some heroes are built a little differently than the rest of us, and some hearts love in a way we’re not used to. Blood spatter and exit wounds make more sense to Aiden than a casual remark or a quick wink. Living faces and expectations have always been more of a mystery to Aiden than the cases he handles for the FBI because of his Asperger’s, but he’s never let it stop him from getting what he wants. He wants Lane as soon as their eyes meet in the airport, but Aiden gets a lot more than he expected when danger arrives with a text message and a threat he can no longer outrun. Luckily, Aiden finds a safe place to hide and learns he actually has a heart, he was just waiting for someone to teach him how to use it.

Detective Lane West is prepared to protect the gorgeous but confusing forensic psychologist from himself and just about anything fate throws at them. But what about Lane’s heart? Despite his best intentions, Lane can’t keep his hands off Aiden, keep it in his pants, or keep his heart out of it as soon as Mr. Morning After works his magic.

Passion and pancakes bring two lonely hearts together, and an errand for the district attorney turns Lake Cliff upside down.

I will always love the story

I was quite excited to see that one of my favourite books was being made as an audiobook! I really love Aiden and Lane and listening to them is an added bonus! Yes, the audio quality could have been better, but a good story can (and did) rise above that. I really liked Mr. Sterling as a narrator, there were times he was a tad fast, but I really enjoyed listening to this 🤗
Bravo to K. and Mr Sterling!

More than Amazing!

I can't say enough about this author, I adore her books, her writing style, her characters. I hate calling Lane and Aiden characters because they feel more like friends. They are such special men and their relationship is breath taking, they have an amazing love. Plus the heat factor is just WOW! I had previously read the book and listening was beyond great. Mr Sterling did a fabulous job of bringing them to life.

Avoid This Title

I have listened to all types of M/M romance audiobooks and I have to say that I enjoyed the vast majority of them. This one is a glaring exception. The story consists of one sex session after another with no character or plot development. It is just one encounter after another. The story has potential but needs to be edited and rewritten to further develop not only the characters but the whole story. This is like a rough draft of an idea that could be a great story.

First time with this Author

...but definitely not my last! The chemistry between the MCs was ridiculous. I liked the realistic relationship woes as they navigate through one of them being on the spectrum and the other not.I also loved the background mystery. Can't wait for the next one!

Aiden and Lane

I liked Aiden and Lane, especially Aiden with his to the point words and his quirkiness. I enjoyed the few secondary characters as well, especially the Chief.

Lane seems like an average guy, working and trying to live his life which is a nice change from my typical reads. Aiden, having Asperger’s was still high functioning and I like how he was portrayed in this story. I also enjoyed the romance and sexy times between the two. They just fit. This has a good storyline and a great ending.

I thought the narrator did a good job. His voice was smooth and even a bit relaxing. When emotions were needed the narrator expressed them well. I could definitely listen to more from him.

This is my first story by both the author and narrator, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Great story and narration

Love this lady's writing, and this has got to one of her best storiess yet. Great writing, excellent characters and a first class, gripping story. What more could you want? Full of romance and snark, as one would expect from Ms Sterling. Loved both Aiden (one of the best characters she's come up with) and Lane. Aiden is not the easiest person to understand, but Lane is perfect for him.

Their relationship was realistic, emotional, and developed beautifully throughout the story. I really came to care for them and was just rooting for their relationship all the way. An absolute keeper that I cannot recommend enough.

The narration was spot on. The characters portrayed just as I expected.

Two great main characters!

I enjoyed this. Civilian profiler for the FBI, Dr Aiden Sharp, comes to the sleepy town of Lake Cliff as an expert witness in a court case. Police Detective Lane West is assigned to look after him. Aiden has Asperger’s Syndrome which has distanced people in Aiden’s past, but Lane finds him attractive & endearing. Despite the law enforcement angle, this definitely fits into the romance rather than the action category, with most of the narrative focussed on Aiden & Lane’s interactions. I liked how Lane supported Aiden but wasn’t afraid to call him on things when he needed to. The author’s son inspired the Aiden character.
