1st book is a slow story line

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was a good way to pass the time on a road trip. Story line was very slow and juveniele. Had I been actually reading this as a book, I probably would have put it down and never picked it back up.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The character being 17, was made out to be more like a 14yr old girl rather than a young woman.

Would you be willing to try another one of Susannah Jones’s performances?

I'm not a fan of Susannah Jones

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Mostly boredom.

Any additional comments?

The first hour and half was spent listening to the main character cry and be horny. Her parents had just died, so the horribly written sorrow was at least realistic. The next 5 listening hours were a series of the main character breaking into tears for OTHER reasons, and being horny.

Overbearingly juvenile and predictable

Plot could've been good but I found the author jumped into the romance way too quickly and overbearingly; made the whole story predictable and juvenile. Made for a very corny read, had me rolling my eyes way too often. I liked the (small) back story on Emma's parents and wished the author would have worked on developing the characters a little more and sharing more of their back story instead of jumping right into the romance before we even got to know anything about them besides the way they looked. Felt like the story was being rushed.

What would have made Hidden Wings better?

If it didn't move so fast. The love was all the sudden there with no time to develop.

What could Cameo Renae have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Given room rather than speed through things.

Tween Romance Novel without the Adult Scenes

Would you try another book from Cameo Renae and/or Susannah Jones?

This is a series of four books, of which I rotated between reading/listening to the first two, and then read the last 5 chapters of the last book. The beautiful thing about this series is that, if you have kindle unlimited and download the book you get the audiobook to listen to for free! I would not have paid for this book, or the series, individually.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

This is a series and written as a series, just for warning. The four novels tie everything up though.

This is a tween romance novel. The characters do not act mature, the nature and reality of their romance is not mature, and the plot line is not mature- but I also don't think that the audience for this book is anyone over 16 years old. If I was 11-16, this book would be where it is at. Since I have Kindle Unlimited, it does not bother me to download the mp3 and hang out with it while I do dishes or walk my dog. However, if you are not a Kindle Unlimited member and a starry eyed tween (or like those types of books, no judgement), you might want to look at some other romance novels.

worst narrator in the world

stumbles awkwardly from one horrible cliche to the next. the narrator takes over acting to a new dimension. vomiting.

Awesome love story

Where does Hidden Wings rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Excellent. This is only my secong audio book and I will finsh the series! I was able to listen to this in ONE sitting!!

Great Performance but choppy story line

The narrator really took you there! But I wish the story was written better. Still, going to have to get the next book!

Critical critique

Here is my opinion, I usually don't share but this book made me need too. First of all I like the story idea it's fine but over done. I want to finish the series but it's just hard because of these reasons....

1. TOO FAST
I felt like we could definently slowed down some parts to give time for character development. Like time to grieve, time to build real bonds not artificial one that your told are there. The amount of just immediate forgetting this happened. For example I have lost family members and does that take time to get over but the fact a. The character just accepted everything and didn't mourn is depressing and honestly disrespectful to the bond she shared with her family.

2. Whining
I feel like this character whined ALOT. I don't think the narrator helped in this aspect either alot of parts were just read in a more whining tone.

3. Lack of independence/ but also doesn't listen -> then listens last minute.
For a female lead that is 17 years old she really has no independence. She also takes about taking a stand and wanting to fight but never does. She is always in over her head does the complete opposite of what she is told one second then the next she does what she is told. I am actually completely baffled.

4. Why is she just so useless....
She is already manifesting some powers why doesn't she slowly gain more? Or why not gain some then let them be completely unreliable until she is 18?

5. Where is the real character bonding?
Please dont force relationships... every relationship in this book is forced upon the reader. The main Character is to trusting and way to accepting... if I was in her place no way would I be so trusting or so willing to accept everything.

Absolutely!! It is one of those stories that you can never grow tired of.

Kade, He has this adorable strong yet sensitive thing about him that is just simply hard to resist.

Which character – as performed by Susannah Jones – was your favorite?

Emma, She nailed her character perfectly. Both in personality and emotional.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

"Once an Immortal bond is made, It is for ever..."

An amazing story of loss and love in a middle of a war that rages between Demons and Angels. Emma will soon discover who she is...
