Hidden Falls: Ordinary Secrets

Publisher's summary

Thirty years of small-town secrets - now the key to the mystery is gone. The small town of Hidden Falls is abuzz. Former students, friends, and loved ones are prepping for tonight's big event to honor Ted Quinn's many years of compassionate service. Quinn is reluctant about a night in the spotlight - but is tenderly prodded by Sylvia, mayor of Hidden Falls and Quinn's dearest friend and confidante.

Ethan and Nicole won't let the shadows of their pasts stop them from returning to Hidden Falls - but only for Quinn - no matter how much it hurts. Liam, a former student, and Jack, a town newcomer, are both hoping the night works toward their own gain--or, if they'll admit it, their chance for redemption. Like Quinn, Dani and Lauren are mainstays in Hidden Falls. They keep close to home--and have secrets to keep close, too.

Now it's time. The guests are seated, introductions are made, the spotlight shines on center stage...and the unthinkable leaves the entire town scrambling for the truth.

A new must-read episode releases every week starting January 24!

dragging

not my cup of tea. Might be a more interesting subject for someone who has never been to a small town or went to a class reunion

Too much going on

I did enjoy the story but a little too slow and to many background character stories going on for a short story. Needed to focus on one thing. I would prefer the focus on the main theme and character. As soon as it got good it ended.

A Compelling Start to a Series

Any additional comments?

I'm a sucker for small-town mysteries and multiple POVs, so this book was right up my alley. Tons of different characters---which the narrator and author do a good job of distinguishing from each other--and several small mysteries that undergird the overarching story. I'm not a huge fan of buying serial installments because they generally end up costing more than a couple of full-length books, so I can't comment on the rest of the series. I'm eagerly waiting for this book to be released as a single unit. It promises to be a great read! If you're interested in a quick, interesting hook and you don't mind being cliff-hung (or you're willing to spend the money in the serial components), start here!

Dun...dun...da

A good enough short with many episodes to follow that I found interesting enough to continue on with. As with any start to a story this was an introduction to the characters and their personalities. Intriguing folks as a whole who made me want to know more about how their backgrounds intertwine. At the end of this episode a a gentleman, Ted Quinn, is being honored for his years of teaching and continuous service to the community. While being introduced there is a loud noise back stage and Ted has disappeared. This was good enough and I'm sure the next episode will have more of a storyline. Debby Mccomber-esk style of writing and narration.

hmm, tell me more

Would you listen to Hidden Falls: Ordinary Secrets again? Why?

This was a good teaser, Starts off kinda slow. But takes off near the end.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

It seems to be an OK story. Slowly picks up. I like this in a narrative, sometimes. I like a story that builds.

Have you listened to any of Rebecca Gallagher’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No.This is my first

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Hmmm, No I think this story has more to say I sometimes like to take my time on a good mystery.

Any additional comments?

Looking forward to the full story.

Just enough characters!

Intriguing, and quirky well written, just when I thought enough with the great guy act! Can’t wait for the next episode!

Whoa!

What is the deal here? I have to use up a credit to get the next chapter and there are 8 more! I expect to pay for the entire book not chapters! Might have started out as an interesting story line but not 8 credits worth by a long shot. The first is the last for this reader. I feel we should have been made aware of the situation up front.

Found this episode interesting, but a little slow.

Found this episode interesting, but a little slow. Narrator's voice is nice but more monotone than I prefer.

Great Start

I loved it. My only regret is that it was too short. I can't wait for episode 2.
