Another great Vera story
Fantastic stories, characters, and a perfect reader. A real pleasure. I love the TV show as well, and picture the wonderful Brenda Blethyn as I listen to the books.

One of the best
I love all the Ann Cleeves books, but this was one of the best. Marvelous characters are always a wonderful part of her stories, and this one has a very interesting group to be sorted by the inimitable Vera Stanhope.

Vera is the most compelling detective
Because she’s real. So real. Not secretly brilliant behind a brooding veneer. Not secretly desirable behind her distant broken demeanor. She’s a pissy, overweight, fallible, older woman. I just love this series.

Excellent! My favorite! I love writing of Ann Cleeves and narrated by Ann Dover is superb! Hidden Depths is true about so call perfect love,marriage and friendship and was done wonderfully in every single way !

Brilliant ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Her books just keep getting better and better. She is just a true storyteller and an artist as well. She sets the scene like no other author, when she’s describing the people, the places, locations in her book, you really feel like you are right there. You can smell the bacon sandwich or the beer in the pub...it’s uncanny how she truly transports the reader to Northumbria. It is just so cool. And the characters? Well you feel like you really know these people, that you get what they’re about and what drives them in general. You feel a part of something and it’s amazing. I have not one negative point for this book or the narration. A rare occurrence in such a saturated genre. Definitely worth your credit and time.

Ms. Cleeves always delivers!!!
Enjoyed this book because there was more information about Vera stanhope's relationship with her father and intermingled with the plot of this story makes me appreciate Vera's skills as q detective even more.
