Publisher's summary

Book one in the Hey Sunshine Trilogy.

Avery Kent knows that life can change in an instant: One second you're on your way out of small-town life, the next you're left heartbroken and stunned when your thrill-seeking high school boyfriend runs off in pursuit of a potentially dangerous dream.

Four years later, everything is different. When Chase returns, admitting he made a mistake and asking for a second chance, Avery wants to think she can trust him again. But when the arrival of a handsome, quiet stranger named Fox shifts Avery's focus, she realizes that things are about to get a lot more complicated.

When is a lot of history enough reason for a future? And how do you ignore the way someone makes you feel, especially when they were the last thing you ever expected? This is a college age, new adult romance - for listeners 17 and above due to mature themes.

2017 Audible Review:
Even 2 years later I absolutely adore this book to pieces. This is one of my all time favorite books! I was excited to see this went on Audible. I'm not a rereader by nature though I always want to reread books.
Amanda, the narrator nailed Avery's story spot on. Though at times the audio got choppy and faded out, I don't rate based on something like that. I base it on their ability to play the character and deliver a story to the reader. And Amanda did just that! 5 stars; all time favorite book, though this was already established.
More people need to read these books because this series and this author do not get enough attention. I adore Tia as a person and absolutely love all 3 of her books!

Original 2015 Review:

WHAT!? WHAT JUST HAPPENED! That ending killed me. ugh. December... HURRY UP PLEASE!
I had no idea I was going to love this book as much as I did. I read this with one of my friends and we are both obsessing over this book. This is easily, for both of us, one of our favorite books so far this year!! I'm so thankful that Tia contacted me asking to review this. This book was absolutely perfect. I'm obsessed with this book. There's a certain type of guy I like and not to throw out spoilers, but Fox is one of those guys. Once you read this book, you will understand why. Guys like this make my heart burst into thousands of pieces. I can't even form coherent thoughts right now and I feel like Avery. ;) I'll have more complete thoughts when I've had time to digest this book and think a little. Easily a top 5 favorite book this year. Absolutely obsessed and DYING for december. NEED MORE!!!!!!

Unique take on NA romance

What made the experience of listening to Hey Sunshine the most enjoyable?

I've seen this book around for years but had never gotten around to reading it. I love a good romance story, so when the opportunity to listen to this audiobook for review came about, I jumped at it. Tia did a great job developing here characters and I enjoyed the story. There were a few parts where I found the story a bit slow, but I definitely wasn't expecting the ending.

Avery Kent's life changed after her high school boyfriend left her without a word to chase a thrill by fighting wild-land fires. When he unexpectedly reaches out to her after years she decides to give him another chance. Chase comes back into her life expecting to pick up where things left off. He struggles with how her life has changed since he left.

What about Amanda German’s performance did you like?

The narrator did a good job. I really enjoyed that she used an accent (maybe it's her regular voice) while narrating. Since the book is set in the south it made it feel like more of an authentic narration. She did well separating between the characters, I didn't find myself getting lost as to who was speaking.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I found myself swooning, anxious and invested in what would happen next for these characters. Overall I would recommend this book and I am looking forward to reading Night Fox, the conclusion to the story.

Any additional comments?

I noticed that there was a strange echo/background noise but otherwise really enjoyed her voice.
