Publisher's Summary

Hi I’m Paul. I have a gift. I see people inside out. Not literally, that would be gross! Good people shine. They have light under their skin and bad people have shadows. The shadows are scary and evil. Now I can hear them too! The shadows are always whispering suggestions to be bad. Most shadow people don’t know that they have a choice. They don’t actually have to listen to those suggestions. I try to help them figure that out. That’s not always easy. It’s not like I can just walk up to them and say, "Erm you got a bunch of evil shadows crawling around under your skin. I think I can help you with that." Light is the only thing that scares them away. And sometimes even that doesn’t work!

Brilliant and FUN!

I just bought this and have been listening to it at work. Or should I say, I've been *trying* to work and have been thoroughly and enjoyably distracted by this brilliant and wildly entertaining recording. I love every moment but Blackbird and When I'm Sixty-Four are favorites. And I could listen to the Fugue a million times and never get tired of it.

Although he clearly has technical, harmonic and rhythmic chops, it is the treatment of melody that keeps you hooked. These old tunes sound beautiful and fresh in his hands.

Avlon's fresh and creative interpretation of these old favorites is pure genius. I just have to keep playing these tunes - the more I listen, the more I like them and appreciate this innovative approach.

Best Audio Book Ever?

Is this the best audiobook ever written about the Fabs' tendencies in the studio? If not, it's certainly among the 5 best. If you're into details about how Beatles' sessions were done, this is the best since Revolution In The Head. But it also gives some keen insight into the personal comportment of John, Paul, George & Ringo, and despite this writer's own respect and love for them, I probably would have quit working for them too,as Avlon did during The White Album. If you call yourself a Beatles fan, you cannot pass up reading this exceptional audiobook.
