Publisher's Summary

Paul is an interesting and unusual young man. He is able to see people inside out. This means that he sees personality first and then external appearances. Paul's eyes see light shimmering off good people or shadows lurking in not so good people. His circle of friends and his mother are unaware of this ability he has. But he is not alone in this. He has an unseen friend; a friend who leads and guides his thoughts as he goes through his life experiences.

Paul also has a romantic interest. The girl he is falling for, you could only fall for if you did see people inside out. She is absolutely beautiful, on the inside!

He knows he is not like other people. He knows that he always feels out of place or that something is just not right. The trouble is he can't put his finger on just what that something really is.

The biggest burden and challenge in his life is struggling with the fact that his mother does not speak. He knows that she can speak because that was the last thing his father told him before he left. She just chooses not to. What Paul doesn't know is that there was another child; a brother who died before he was born.

His best friend Johnny's brother is in jail for a crime he didn't commit. And as if that is not bad enough, he has also managed to get his girlfriend pregnant.

Loved it

First from learning a bit of the recording process to listening how he got his start and how he learned is craft , he educated me. Add to that The Beatles songs he worked on with personal experience and insight to each person and song was another education. Avlon's involvement which has be documented is now clarified better. Too much to list here. I listen in 3 days .

It was like being there

This was a great read. The author's first hand experience makes it so. Growing up listening to the Beatles allowed me to understand and appreciate all the retelling of events in this aduiobook. I am so glad Mr. Avlon took the time to remember, research, and write this audiobook. It prompted me to go and re listen to many tracks and take note of what specifically Avlon was writing about. It was fascinating, fun, and educational.

Decide For Yourself

Having finished listening this audio book I can fully understand the many critical comments regarding the author's negative comments. The audiobook is well written and narrated and a very interesting listen. I actually found them more a confirmation that people, no matter who they are, are fragile and flawed beings. Through it all, regardless of the issues at hand written about in this audiobook, it was the music that was the ultimate victor.

Exceptional audiobook

This is a truly great audiobook. I've read several other major audiobooks on the Beatles, but this one has a lot of material that none of the others seem to have. It feels much more of an intimate portrait, more finely drawn, more telling details. I am thrilled to have this audiobook. My husband and I are both die hard Beatles fans, being kids when the Beatles hit American shores. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Why did I not hear of this album before?

I feel as though I must either be living under a rock, or Avlon McCreadie has the world's worst publicist. I stumbled onto this while browsing another artist's website. A most fortunate accident! These are beautiful arrangements wonderfully performed. It has caused me to speculate that perhaps one of the criteria of a really great song is that it can be performed in a variety of different ways and still sound great. The Beatles are well served by Avlon McCreadie.
