Spring break in Las Vegas, and over two hundred thousand pleasure-seekers have packed the two- and one-half mile stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard known as The Strip. Among them, Jake Moriarity, who is backstage at the Caesars Palace Coliseum where best friend Aaron Perry and his jazz trio are wrapping a month-long residency to a standing room only audience of over four thousand adoring fans.

Halfway through the concert, someone informs Jake that a sniper has gunned down two men in front of Caesars Palace. With the horror of 1 October still fresh in their minds, mass chaos erupts on The Strip as thousands of people begin blindly fleeing from the danger.

While emergency services and Las Vegas Metro police scramble to control the panic, a group of heavily armed militants take control of the Flamingo intersection and open fire, indiscriminately gunning down hundreds of men, women and children. As this is happening in Las Vegas, the same scenario is playing out in other major cities up and down the west coast. Thousands murdered in the streets with no apparent goal except to create chaos.

Upon learning that someone has made a credible threat against his family—a threat that is directly tied to the mass murders—Jake and Aaron rush to San Diego, where they face a chilling discovery: the individual behind everything is the ghost of Jake’s most diabolical enemy whose goal is to rid the earth of two billion people.

Torn between protecting his family and stopping this global threat, Jake appeals for help from his closest colleagues in the FBI only to uncover collusion and corruption, reaching to the highest echelons of government, the US military, and even the FBI itself.
