Publisher's summary

Scarred by poverty and life with a crackhead mother, Onika Lewis had a rough start. Still, thanks to her sharp mind, and hard work, she graduated with honors from a prestigious college. But her achievements weren't enough to earn her the elite status she craved. So she leveraged her gorgeous looks to become a rich man's trophy. And was eventually dumped for a younger model. Now Onika is unemployed, broke - and homeless. She's making a fresh start through a unique women's shelter, but when she meets Graham, a kind-hearted commuter with whom she has an instant connection, she can't bring herself to tell him her secret. Suddenly Onika has someone who cares about who she is beyond her looks. Graham's unselfish love gives her the kind of hope she's never had. But when Onika's wealthy ex wants her back, she plays one deception too many trying to have it all. Now present lies and past secrets are tearing her world apart. And Onika will need to educate herself once more - to learn what really matters, find faith, forgiveness - and build a life she truly deserves.

Enjoyed The Book

I hope there will be a sequel to find out if Nikki and Graham stay together and how she finds her way back to faith and family. I really enjoyed listening and I love Diana Luke's narration.

It's not how we start, but where we end

This a good story. It's about a child who grew up in horribly poor & harsh conditions, with an addicted mother & a grandmother who blamed the child for the mother's addiction. She tells of her life & the stumbling stones that rocked her very core.

I've read previous books by this author & have enjoy them. I really enjoyed listening to the narrator she bought each character to life.

Really good book. Wish the ending was a little happier but still a good read and narration was decent

Really Good Until….

This book started off great. I was really enjoying the story l, until the end. It’s like the author was tired of the story and wanted it to be over. The narrator was great

Overall, it made me laugh, fuss, cry and smile.

The main character acted haughty and snobby but was in fact naive and kinda stupid for a long long long time. This almost seemed like 2 different books or storylines smashed together. I liked that it circled around God and faith. I wished that the circle was closed with her gaining her faith back. She experienced a very supernatural miracle and it was never explained but leaves the reader to puzzle it out.

Great story

The narration is EXCELLENT! And the overall story was interesting and easy to follow. However, the ending didn’t feel complete and needed one or two more chapters to wrap everything up neatly. It seems like there’s a piece of the story missing from the last chapter.

Good read

The book was real good up until the last two chapters where to me it felt rushed to finish.

I loved the book but, the end was anticlimactic.

The story was strong but, the end was weak. I would recommend reading it though.

Great story!

Not at all what I expected. The story is eye opening about our superficial fears and the reasons why we sometimes feel the need to hide who we really are to people, even the ones who tell us we can trust them.
I loved how this story brought God into the picture but it wasn't a Christian read. It was just enough to make you realize how God plays a part in our lives on a daily basis.
I would definitely recommend Her Secret Life!
