Publisher's Summary

From the bestselling author of One Small Sacrifice comes a suspenseful thriller about a dead woman who predicted her own murder - and the sister who won’t let the truth be buried.

When her beloved sister Caroline dies suddenly, Deirdre is heartbroken. However, her sorrow turns to bone-chilling confusion when she receives a message Caroline sent days earlier warning that her death would be no accident. Long used to being a pariah to her family, Deirdre covers her tattoos and heads to Manhattan for her sister’s funeral.

The message claimed Caroline’s husband, Theo, killed his first wife and got away with it. Reeling from the news, Deirdre confronts Theo on the way to the cemetery, and he reveals both his temper and his suspicion that Deirdre’s “perfect” sister was having an affair.

Paranoid and armed with just enough information to make her dangerous, Deirdre digs into the disturbing secrets buried with Caroline. But as she gets closer to the truth, she realizes that her own life may be at risk...and that there may be more than one killer in the family.

Very Entertaining...

This is such a good book. I won’t add much to the publisher’s summary because it is pretty comprehensive and I would only spoil it for others.
As stated in the summary the protagonist’s sister dies of what appears to be natural causes. One week later she receives an email from her deceased sister saying no matter how it looks if you have this it means I’m dead and it’s murder. Her sister leaves a clue who it is. So our heroine is on the case. What she finds is plenty of red herrings that when really looked at don’t fit. It’s the ending that is really surprising and for me unexpected.
Sarah Mollo-Christensen and Will Damron did a great job narrating. I am a huge fan of Will Damron and look for books that he narrates , I wish he did more!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

One of the...

... worst books I’ve ever read. The only decent character is 3 year old Teddy while the rest range from passive to psycho. Ridiculous plot exacerbated by poor narration.

The end was okay…

Several times I almost stopped listening. I bought the book based on the ratings, and was disappointed till the end.

One messed up family!

As one that is still upholding a loved one's dying wish 3 years later I know in real life how strong those last promises are and what lengths you will go and sacrifices you will make to meet them. However, I didn't have the murder, love twist, and all the other issues going on this story throws at our grieving sister in her pursuit looking for her sister's murderer! A well paced book for an afternoon listen as you get your laundry done, kitchen cleaned, household cleaning in, and some yardwork done. 👍 I recommend this book. A quick easy, and entertaining book.

Couldn’t finish it

Not a fan of the narrators, so it kept me out of the story. Couldn’t finish.

Worst narration ever

I didn’t think I could make myself listen to the entire book given the awful narration. I thought the story might make it worthwhile in the end but this is honestly one of the worst books I’ve listened to in years. Expectations were super high going in and it was a complete disappointment. I found myself laughing and cringing alternately when the male narrator spoke. So so bad.

Good story

Story was good, same with the reading of story, I might recommend it, if I knew someone that really loved this style. It wasn't a "can't stop reading" type of book, but it also wasn't a "can't wait to get this over either" type

Not crazy about it

Although it was an interesting premise, I didn’t enjoy the book. I plowed through it because I wanted to know who did it at the end, but the story unfolded with one disaster after another.
The writing seemed forced. Too many awkward similes. What I liked least of all was the narration.

Her Last Breath

I went back and forth on this one. Diedre receives an email after her sister, Caroline, dies telling her if she does receive the email that her death is not an accident that her husband, Theo, killed her. At the funeral she confronts Theo and he confronts right back. Now we are on race to figure out the twists and turns of this crazy family. This is an over the top eye roll.
