Publisher's Summary

The boss is off limits.

Joshua is back in Honey Grove. As a divorced, single dad, he’s decided that love is the last thing he needs.

Beth is back in Honey Grove after losing her job and getting dumped.

When Josh’s mother, the town’s busybody, arranges for Beth to be his nanny, Josh decides to go along with the plan.

Even though Beth is no longer the lanky girl next door, Josh isn’t looking for a relationship anyway. He can keep her at a distance. Right?

Everything seems to be working out until their relationship deepens and their arrangement isn’t enough anymore.

Too bad her feelings for Josh isn’t Beth’s only secret.

Engaging fun clean heartwarming romance

An amazing heartwarming second chance friends to more romance. This engaging storyline had me addicted from the first chapter till the last page was turned. I am excited to read more standalones of the Braxton brothers series. This clean standalone romance was fun and entertaining while it touched my heart with angst, trust issues, and love as these two reluctant people tried to stay professional guarding and navigating their growing feelings thru an incredible journey of secrets, interference, working n.v g with one another, and matchmaking. The characters were interesting, well developed, and full of undeniable chemistry. I voluntarily listened and reviewed this ARC that had great storytelling thru narration. The narrator has really done a good job thru voice variations that really brings the characters and story to life.

Excellent narrator, lack of communication romance

I will not summarize this story because it was already given in the description of this book and I do not want to give any of the plot away. The purpose of this review was to give potential readers information to make an informed decision about reading/listening to this book.

What engaged me in this story:

• The author caught my attention right from the beginning and drew me into the story with the arrival of Josh and Jordan to their new home. Learning why Josh had to move back in with his parents helped me to connect with the story.
• Josh and Beth were characters that you wanted to discover more about as you listened to the story.
• Trish was perfectly characterized as a self-absorbed woman.
• The minor players in this story added depth to the storyline.
• The descriptions of locations and emotions were well done, easy to visualize, and to feel. I felt a part of the scenes.
• The pacing of the story was neither too slow nor too fast.
• There was a smooth, coherent flow to this book.
• The transfer between Josh's and Beth's viewpoint in the story was very smooth. So smooth, I did not consciously register the changes.
• This story had a satisfying ending.
• The narrator did an excellent job in differentiating the various characters' voices. She did an amazing job. She had a pleasant voice to listen to.
• This was a clean story.

What bothered me:

• I have a pet peeve for pathetic heroines who do not communicate and who do not use their brains. I like my heroines smart and the plot driven by other literary devices. The lack of communication between Beth, her mom, and Josh was very annoying and frustrating to me. Beth did not even try to THINK of a way to solve her problems, and that WAS the problem. In the beginning, Beth was likeable. As the story continued, she just became pathetic.

I know many listeners do not mind weak heroines (damsels in distress who can't fix anything on their own) and would probably rate this story highly, a 4 or 5 star. So I am trying to rate this story from their perspective. The writing was excellent. The characterization well done. I will compromise and give the story an overall rating of 4 stars, the narration 5 stars, and the story 3 stars.

I was given a free audiobook by the author. My review was voluntary and my opinions were my own.

The narrator of this book was excellent. I will keep a lookout for more books narrated by Liz Krane.

Cute clean romance

Josh and Beth are old friends that find themselves back in Honey Grove. Beth returns after losing her job and getting dumped by her boyfriend. Josh returns as a divorced, single dad. They both have issues to deal with. This is a good story about second chances.

crush on her boss

This wasn't your typical nanny falls in love with the boss book IMO. Beth had a crush on Joshua years ago. They are both back home for different reasons. Sparks fly between these two but will they be able to be together? A really sweet romance but also a story about family hurts and what problems secrets can create.

Love after heartbreak

This was a clean sweet romance about healing hearts and missed opportunities. It is the story of Josh who is recently divorced and moving back in with his parents with his 5 year old son. His wife cheated on him with his business partner. It is also the story of Beth who is also just new back into town. Her mother has Cancer but won’t let her tell anyone. Beth has a strained relationship with her mother and the Cancer diagnosis isn’t helping. As she struggles to find a job she reconnects with Josh who hires her to be his nanny. Beth used to have a big time cruise on Josh but Josh never returned those feelings. And Beth is getting over an 8 year relationship that ended badly. This is the second book I have read in this series. I would recommend reading them in order but they are stand alone so they can really be read in any order which is good for me since I am randomly reading them or in this case listening to them.
