Love Love Love

Cannot wait to listen to the rest of this series. Hope they kept the same narrator.

Entertaining and funny

I believe the author is from Australia and I'm not sure if it's suppose to take place there as well since they use "lift' for elevator and other non American words. Either way though, the books are funny and entertaining and I'm really enjoying them regardless of an accent or lack of. The narrator still does a good job. What do I know...maybe she does have an accent! Doesn't sound like it to me though.

JD Nixon is the BEST!

I've had this series and the Blood series on Nook. Now I'm starting over again here on Audible. I love both of them, however Heller is my favorite.
Ms Nixon is so great , an author that will read her fan mail and will return an email with a grace So take the time to listen, read her books. It's so worth it!

Fifty Shades of Gray has nothing on Heller

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. Although there is not any depth in the series compares to other mystery/detective novels I prefer, it is an entertaining listen.

Would you be willing to try another book from JD Nixon? Why or why not?

I am going to continue with the series and see where it goes. If the next book doesn't have a real "plot" that requires some cerebral challenge, I don't know that I will continue with the series.

Which scene was your favorite?

Envisioning the butt/nutt kicking experience with the poligimist preacher where Tillie makes him tell his "wives" what he had done to/attempted to do to her made me laugh. Later when Tillie receives a gift and a note from the wives explaining how much different (for the better) their lives were was nice.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The private moments between Tillie and Heller are interesting. At times you get the impression Heller seems to care for Tillie as a little sister he has the obligation to to protect because he loves her as family. However a quickly as you can blink, the sexual tension goes from 0 to 100+ . Can they have the kind of relationship needed to work together with Heller firmly in control as a boss, or will they ever give into their physician desires? I'm not sure Tillie has the maturity to separate the two feelings if this were to happen. And, Tillie has yet to understand that Hillers interest in her private life may actually be due to threats to his security business and knowing that his rivals would stoop so low as to use Tillies naïveté to breach the warehouses inner sanctum.

Any additional comments?

I have to wonder if this author might be Annelise Ryan using another pen name. Tillie and Maddie Winston (the main female character in Ryan's series) have so many silularities i.e. height, weight, ample bosom, shoe size, attitudes and phraseology. The characters and verbiage are so similar, not to mention the same narrator, it makes me wonder. And, the more I listen, the more I am sure the writers are one and the same

Heller series, my all time favorite

Heller series
This is one of my all time favorite series. I read them all a few years ago but the books always stayed with me. So glad they are now on audio. Just as great as the first time I read them. I love the characters, funny, sad, and just endearing.

Great series

Loved it! I like series that don't end on a cliff hanger but still have me so interested that I immediately purchase the next book in the series. This is exactly that type of series.

I Liked It.

What made the experience of listening to Heller the most enjoyable?

Story: 3.5 stars

I guess it would probably be the story itself. It was funny at times, kept me engaged and I enjoyed the chemistry between Tilly and Heller.

Did Jorjeana Marie do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Hmm. Yes and no. Jorgeana has a very pleasant voice but it was odd to have the character of Tilly speak with an American accent, while using words like shag, gobsmacked, knickers, arse, etc., that are mostly specific to the UK or Australia. Since the book and character are set somewhere in the UK or Australia, it would have sounded more authentic if she'd adopted the correct accent . Her male European accent for Heller wasn't great either. Having said that, I eventually got over most of my issues because her voice itself is nice to listen to.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I was moved by a few of the characters and what they'd been through in their lives.

Any additional comments?

I plan to continue on with the series and I'm looking forward to Heller's Revenge.

Great story, horrendously bad choice for narrator

Great story ruined by a horrible performance. The story takes place in Australia with Australian chatacters but is narrated by an American sounding performer. The part where the main character says something to the effect of " what and the fact that I don't have an American accent didn't tip you off" is completely laughable.
